Who determines what size and weight a DE or OLB is?

Last time I checked Maggitt and Smith both played DE in our 4-3 front. Granted Maggitt didn't play there full time, but the point is still valid.

Olb's in a 3-4 are normally on the line of scrimmage, as well.

The only difference is semantics.

The coach. In my experience there is a significant difference in the positions. They are bigger and stronger. That's all.,.

Once again, just semantics. The new staff can play McCullers head up on the center and tight to the football, and then tell him that he's the MLB. But that doesn't make it so.

Whether you call yourself a 3-4 and you call your guys OLB's or you call yourself 5-2, there's no difference.

I guess we can agree that we both hope to see an upgrade on defense under Jones.

It seems to me that the phrase "....given the appropriate personel" suggests the difficulty in implimentation of the 3-4 is that it is more difficult to coach. I think we saw the validity of that this season. I see no need to shrink the available talent pool from which to recruit! UT proved the viability of the 4-3 for years. There is (was) no reason to change.

It's a smokescreen. He's actually going to implement a new 6-1 scheme.
