Defense

Can we finally give ti. Banks the credit he deserves! That was a total defensive work of art. I'm so proud of this defense and their accomplishments tonight.
It was a good game. They didn’t do anything creative. SC was bad up front and didn’t use any of the things that Florida hurt us with.

Our biggest issue is matching up after motion and SC was minimally motioning.

I loved that we kept it simple on the back end and attacked the LT. Pressure with 4 makes the game 7 on 5 in the defense’s favor and gives us a chance. If we have to send a couple guys, we can’t hold up.

The DL looked great.

Pearce showed up and showed out. He is so fast.

Hadden made some plays and scored a defensive TD for the first time since 2021.

Walker was Johnny on the spot a few times.

Beasley, Herring, Carter, and Telander were all over the place, sideline to sideline.

Eason Norman-Lott and Omari blew up so many plays.

Man that was fun to watch

Ha Ha Ha. I do wish the Dline had done the one-two-three-etc. that Rattler did last year. 6 TDs last year. 6 sacks this year. The cherry on top was the pick 6 that will be playing on TV all next week. The defense was AWESOME!! Go Vols! We are still in the race.

That 3rd and 1 stop where Baron hit the running back and then Telander cleaned it up, followed by Carter jumping on the pile, made me smile.

I have seen the future, and there’s a lot of 22 and 7.

Defense led the way tonight. Other than the one big run they bottled Rattler up, didn’t allow big plays downfield, got off the field on 3rd down, came up with a big turnover and score. Can’t ask for much more than that
The only other negative would be the 4th down play where McDonald some how didn't knock the ball down.

I like it when our corners play closer and play hard. They seemed like softened up coverage for a couple of drives after we got up 21 and I think they locked back in. But man, they looked like a different unit out there tonight.

I saw a lot of great individual effort and "want too". I didn't see much different from a scheme perspective....Pearce and Josephs are going to be a problem for this league next year. I'm going to go out on a short limb and say Lott is playing slightly better that Omari, which means we've got the best starting DTs in the conference, and the best duo Tennessee has had since Henderson and Haynesworth. I wouldn't be opposed to Gabe-Judy, and Harris becoming the starters moving forward, moving Hadden to FS would suit Him better and improve the backfield. I didn't hear much out of the LBs tonight....#7 is going to be special.

Rattler to me is one of those guys a lot like Josh Dobbs was. You can sack him and tackle him all over the field but he's never really nailed or blown up. For that alone the defense really challenged Rattler tonight and came up big for us.

Great game plan by Tim Banks. Big shout out to our D-Line as they were dominant and manhandled the line of scrimmage.
