Defensive plays

Billy Ratliff was the DT who made that play against Arkansas in 1998. Strange thing is, the way Brandon Burlsworth (Arkansas OG) had played against Ratliff, ol' #40 was about the last guy I'd have ever expected to make that play. That's a perfect case of simply wanting to make a play and doing it...Ratliff had one good play out of 65 or 70 Hogs' offensive plays. Until my copy of the tape was destroyed, I'd use that play to show the defensive linemen that I coach how desire can override everything else in any situation. (HINT HINT: I need a new tape of that game)

I miss seeing Ratliff out there. Had he stayed healthy, we'd be sitting here debating whether or not he'd be a first-ballot NFL Hall of Famer when he retired.

Eddie Moore in 2001 against a Florida receiver whose name escapes me (the KO shot) was a thunderous imapct, and a beautiful sight.

Darwin Walker had that huge sack in the Fiesta Bowl against Florida State, which goes nicely with Dwayne Goodrich's INT.

Reggie had several highlight plays. The thing is he made the hard plays look easy thus many got overlooked. We just expected it.

Can't remember the guys name, but I think it was in the Gator Bowl way back when, against Syracuse, when he stuck Larry Csonka at the goalline.
Paul Naumoff 1966?

Not to overstate the impact of that play, but in my humble opinion Phillip Fulmer would not be the head coach at the University of Tennessee if Deon doesn't make that interception.

I've also assumed Fulmer has Clint Stoerner in his will.

One of you is talking about Maurice Fitzgerald and one of you is talking about the lick Eddie Moore put on that kid.
It was Buck Fitzgerald. Maurice was his dad and the HC at Pearl Cohn

Let's be honest though. The d-line's push caused Stoerner to stumble, but Clint Stoerner is the one who caused Clint Stoerner to fumble.

Yep. That was an extremely lucky break.

Was it Kevin Burnett against a Florida WR at the pond in 01?

No. It was Eddie Moore demolishing Kelvin Kight. Then in 2002, Eddie had another huge hit against the same guy. Kelvin was quoted in the paper yesterday saying that he has issued a restraining order against Eddie because he has been following him in his dreams the past 4 years.

1. Raynoch Thompson soaring from the end position on 4th and inches against Auburn in 1998. It was almost like a bullet.

2. Al Wilson at thed Goal Line vs. UF in 1998. If they score there early on, we probably dont win.

3. Willie Miles knocking the ball out of Gaffney's hands in 2000 ( sorry, had to throw it in, even though it doesnt stand.

4. Almost every play from the 1995 Alabama game.

His detonation job on, I believe it was, Brian Burgdorf in the '95 Alabama game was a classic.
The one wher he creamed BAMA's QB was FReddie Kitchens, and he was a big boy.
