Defensive Scheme is Terrible

It’s terrible bc the DC can’t play to his teams strengths and minimize their weakness. We don’t set the edge. We play 10 yards off targets. We line up wrong. We miss assignments. We get stupid penalties albeit some are questionable but still. We don’t turn our heads. And when a pass isn’t catchable we let our DB’s or corners celebrate like they were why the QB threw it 4 rows deep.

And it continues without change. It’s a cycle. BC Banks can’t do it, Martinez can’t coach and Huepel seems it’s just part of life

Tell me one area of the game we exceled at?

We had a chance tonight except our Offense, Defense, Special Teams, Coaching, Play Calling, Penalties, Discipline, Tackling, and Turnovers held us back!

If I were to guess at any areas we were good to Ok at it would be DL and Punting. That's about it.

I saw many of our defenders out of position. Plenty of times I saw 44 in the wrong spot creating a gap. I think I saw many stunts where the DL got tangled up. All of this created monster gaps for runs. You can put some on the players. You have to put plenty on Banks for not adjusting sooner when you see your players not being able to implement what you call.
I saw 44 so many times out of place today I wondered why he was even in there.
Our D, if they get stopped from getting any type of rush on the QB the rest of them get thumped.
Every dang time we give up 3rd and very long plus more yards...

Needs a serious upgrade on that side of the ball.. Can't play that way and win anything meaningful in this conference..Guys are either not picking up what they’re asking them to do or the scheme is setting them up for failure.
It gets harder next season with the East v West in the SEC going away and expanded play off
I get playing Zone and soft zone but we don't play it well.
Need to go give Mason or someone a call.

I feel like our defense made too many adjustments to help out the secondary, and it opened up their running game.

We need 2 lockdown CBs and a severance check for Martinez!

Punting was a highlight....pinned them deep and even the 3 and 1 foot line. Didn't matter because our defense flat sucked.

Watching a drive with this defense is like watching a Hallmark Christmas movie… you know how it’s going to end, just not the details. And no matter how much you swear them off, you always end up watching the next one too

Tenneesse apparently forgot how to set the edge. The defensive end has to get across the line of scrimmage and force outside runs inside to the linebackers. Tennessee" defensive interior lineman are big but they are slow. Our pass rush was ineffective when you continue to let the quarterback run for first downs virtually everytime you blitz. I can't believe how wide open the receivers on midrange passes to the sidelines. It looked like number (#0) was lost. Our backend guys are awful. Martinez does not develop defensive backs. GA fired Martinez for a reason . We are really missing the linebacker from BYU.

On the offensive side we don't have any fast wide receivers other than White after Thorton went out. Ollie Lane maybe setting records for holding calls.

Overall this was a very one sided loss like South Carolina last year. Watch Ole Miss beat UGA tonight.
Scheme is limited due to the low talent level.

I don't know who was worse tonight the CBs or LBs. I didn't even hear Beasley's name called but he did end up with 3 tackles and a half-sack! lol

Our zone is atrocious, we stand flat footed and no idea where the receiver is.
If you’re watching the Ga Ole Miss game you’ll see that Georgia will eat up Tim Banks schematically next week. They help Beck with the little screens and dump passes to backs out of the backfield. The same garbage we were beaten with play after play today.
