He also said LSU put the FULL court press on Copeland. Les Miles was at Copeland's school last Wed. for 8 hours.

Worles and Miles keep on him. I really didn't know much about him but his reel looks outstanding, if he can put on 20-25lbs he could worked into the lineup this year on passing downs. That guy looks great. I would say most LSU fans have forgotten about the Hunter loss now.

I disagree. I don't think UT is as bad at OL as many others do. I think James is an immediate contributor to go with Schofield, Shaw, Douglas, Thomas, Thomas, and probably Hood.

Hood could be the one that gets converted. I think some schools recruited him as a DL.

Jeffrey, Walls, and Hughes provide a good start at DT. Not enough depth obviously but these guys aren't a bad start.

Schofield and Douglas are the only two you list that I have confidence in holding their own - and then we are talking about hoping to start true freshmen like James, which I think he may be able to do. You are talking about some serious unknowns, combined with some injury (which is going to happen on the OL without doubt), and you have serious questions/problems.

Why did we not hire a big 10 or SEC DC?these kids are just abandoning ship left and right. They wanted a great run sopping DC. They as 18 year olds understand the SEC and how important hiring the right DC is.

we are introuble on the oline, but no one we get this year is going to be playing this year, I hope. If we are starting a true freshman we are flat out in trouble. It just doesn't happen. I guess munoz and c Coleman did. Even those guys struggled some from the little I remember. Hey, let's hope James is that good, odds are he isn't, but let's hope because we might have no choice.

You have to have an offensive line to do that, and we're just as bad in that department.

Not----got 3 good ones in this class---and one biggie still out there. This is a great class---best WR class possibly ever. Vols will be fine--don't fret, we could be UGA fans----crying like babies.

James is the only one who might see the field this year. Two 3* recruits (Fulton/Pair) don't make me jump up and down. We needed some Juco players. Sorry.

WTH happened to Copeland guys?! The last time I checked he reaffirmed his committment then I get on in the library right now and he's signed with LSU! WTH!!

no. Dlinemen sometimes get moved to oline, but you just don't see them going the other way and there is a reason. Just doesn't work. If they would work at dline, they'd already be there. Dline is always in high demand. Wish it was an option.

Problem with "missing" at dline, is we have "missed" at dtackle for multiple years. Good class over all cdd doing a great job, but losing jc and stanley are huge blows as to meeting vital needs.

For players already on campus, and assigned a position, I would agree, but high school OL might be playing there because they are just the biggest guys on the team. Maybe I am reaching here, but we will see.

Worle (an LSU RB commit and teammate) and Miles worked on him for a long time and never quit, full court press the last week. I heard he had to call a friend to get a LSU hat last night, don't know if it's true.

Whether the three in this class are good or not, won't help this year. James seems to be the biggest hope and look at his rivals analysis. Those guys are wildly optimistic if anything and it says he is at least a year or two away from playing. If this class helps anywhere, it is in two years. Right now regardless of how good the overall class is, and it is good (cdd has done well), we desperately needed guys who could contribute at dtackle and linebacker (not as immediately apparent- have to see how lathers health is and how the injuries heal ). Arguably the players we needed the most were Stanley, brown and copeland. These hurt in terms of the class filling needs

On offense, but you are. If they had the ability they'd be playing there in highschool. Or if they played both ways and could project to dtackle in college, that's where they would be. D tackles come at a very high premium.

Montori Hughes and John Brown should be serviceable starting DTs. Arthur Jeffrey should also be ok. I know nothing about Victor Thomas and Chase Nelson.

Marlon Walls needs to step up this year and John Brown needs to come in ready to give us a respectable 3 deep but from there its a bunch of beef that has done nothing since they have been here.

Montori Hughes is a legit SEC starter DT.. We know nothing about Arthur Jeffrey, John Brown, Marlon Walls and how they'll pan out, even though I hear that Walls was real good in practice and has good potential.
It seems that Chase Nelson and Victor Thomas has been here forever and haven't amounted to much, so I dont see much changing with that.
That's 6 guys, 1 in Hughes is a legit player. If we can get 2 more out of the remaining 5 to step up we will be fine.

Again, competition should be fierce in spring and fall practice. I easily see Stone and James being in the two deep rotation on the OL.

We have Jeffrey, Walls, Brown, Hughes, Thomas, and Nelson.... if even 3 out of 6 are good i think we can make it we have DE's and maybe one of them can beef up and slide in when needed. I don't think we will suck, but its an understatement to say DT is our #1priority for '11
