Defensive Tackles

here is the thing. if we get a good WR class like it looks like we are going to, then we will have a decent line this year. but we will probably run alot of shotgun and quick outs. and with us having some dinomite WR's in milton hunter, teage, maybe ambles. it will work out fine. then in 2011 work on OLINE.

because lets be real. we dont have a oline coach so alot of guys are going to be scared off by that.

i say this recuiting class we focus on playmakers and go with what we have on the oline. then next class we go from the inside out. OLINE d-line. and some LB's

this is the key to victory baby. get the skills, go to zone blocking and quick outs and play action passes and we will be fine.

if we waist time on oline prospects that are out of reach....we could miss out on christian jones who espn said we are still in it for.....im telling you we have to go full press for as much skilled people and then next year we will load up on o line and d line.

and guess what? LA is sapposed to be the mother load of recruits next year like flordia was this year.....and guess who knows how to recruit LA>?> MR dooley and his staff.

good days ahead gentleman.......gooo days ahead.

Does anyone have any names that could be on the board because I can't think of any unfortunately.

I hesitate to do this but here goes...all 3 stars....Alton Bailey, Curtis Hill, Byran Jones and last but not least...Brandon Ivory, Tennessee kid committed to Bama. No I didn't watch all the tape and as I use ESPN(free), Bailey,Jones, and Hill may be committed elsewhere. But it is some "names", other than Cullen, Whitaker etc...

Chaney can coach OL and we will get one if he's not going to be our OL coach after NSD. And with all this confusion, we look like we're going to get Stone, Glass, Fulton, James and Pair. We'll do well if we can land these two.

Next years recruiting class we need to sign nothing but OL & DL. Lol jk but we really do need to sign alot next year with the lack of getting them this year.

Amen. This is the area that concerns me. I know we need OL as well, but at least we have a few of them committed and are probably going to get a few more. We have one DT committed and I hear he might not even qualify academically. This is scary IMO.
This is our current list of D & O linemen (NONE FROM THE SENIOR CLASS). I know some of the players are not top notch, but we have several to coach up.
I really don't understand why so many people are so scared about our numbers here. Maybe the sky is falling and i can't see it.

I concur on the offensive line, we are fine. I don't think we get Glass (or prob should try). We get James, Fulton, Pair, Stone, and Robinson and we are in very good shape.

At DT, however, we are in bad shape. We are going to have to take JUCOs next year (and they are hard to get qualified). Outside of Hughes, Walls, Bohannen (small), and maybe Jeffrey and Sykes, who do we have after next year? Some of these guys aren't the best students either. Add in questionable grades and injury concerns, and we are in very bad shape. We would do well to go ahead and give McNeil a scholarship IMO.

does anybody know the chances of us landing calvin smith and will John Brown make it in?

Victor Thomas got moved to OL under the old staff, but I hope he goes back to DL just for our depth.

Since they're (supposedly) switching to a 3-4 defense, you would only need one very large DT. Montori Hughes seems to fit that bill. He had a very solid freshman year, especially for not being highly recruited and he is a prototypical nose tackle.

Tim McAdoo is an instate kid that might be able to be swayed late. Not the best but it is late in the game to find great interior Dlinemen.
