Delmonico Question

Didn't understand that in the SEC you have to have power arms and power hitters. It is a strike out and 3 run HR league.

It appeared he had figured that out. It was just too late.

With the luxury of hindsight, I bet he would be very successful given a second chance to coach in the SEC.

Delmonico and his staff rarely recruited kids outside of Knoxville. Yes, RJ Dickey fell in his lap (RJ would have gone to Vandy but they didn’t accept him). I know personally how lazy RD & his staff were during the late 90s recruiting mid state kids.

RA Dickey. I'm not sure if you meant he didn't recruit outside of Knoxville, as far as the state of Tennessee goes.

But Rod recruited me and I'm from Florida. My roommate was from Canada and at least 3 guys were from California. But I don't remember anyone from west Tennessee and just a couple from Middle Tennessee.

Will Coach Rod Delmonico make the ‘Tennessee Baseball Hall of Fame’ one day like Coach Bill Wright did or did he burn too many bridges?
he burned some bridges for sure however time heals all wounds and those folks are long gone I believe.......I wouldn't be shocked if he becomes a Hall of Famer at some point.

Shoot! Rod D goes down with Majors, Devoe and Summitt for me. That’s who I cut my baseball teeth with and I’ll always have a place for Delmonico.
GBO!!
