Oh, the number of "cases" will most definitely go up... "cases", not deaths. But, that will be enough to get the media hyped up.

As far as some of these GOP governors, the verdict is still out on some of them. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them do go for a lockdown.

If there isn’t hospitalization and death data the GOP governors will tell Biden to piss off

I almost hope they try it this fall since campaigning will be starting for midterms around the same time.

Meh, we shall see. I still think we have a few governors to worry about, and frankly, "We the People" are on the clock. I'm not sure marches and demonstrations are going to be enough...

The CDC has come out and said that the variant is of no worry for vaccinated Americans. i doubt there'll be a political will to lock down all of us just to protect those who choose to not get the vax. Here on VN there's quite a few who've chosen not to get the vax. My guess is there's not a one of them that thinks the gov't needs to protect them by locking down

So they'll just turn up the pressure to get more people jabbed by maybe making it mandatory. Or, create enough social pressure to force everyone to comply.

Had some lab tests run yesterday in Williamson County, had to wear a mask to be inside. So what are you saying? Obviously, there are sporadic places where people are acting normal. But clearly, there are several locations still that are going overboard and will continue to do so.

I had an appointment with my family doctor a few weeks ago, staff wearing masks no one else. Had an appointment with a dermotologist a week later for an annual cancer screen, office was locked down like it was a year ago, masks/temp checks, chair dividers etc....Had blood tests and nobody was wearing masks. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the mask mandate anymore.

There isn't a mask mandate anymore besides airlines and public transportation. So business just doing what they want.

I think the latest scare tactic is to pressure more people to get vaccinated.

I will say this, I have nephew , late 20s that contracted Covid back in February 2020. Mild cold like symptoms. Wouldn't know he had it except he applied for a job that required an antibody test where he tested positive.

He said he wasn't getting the vaccine for several of the normal reasons one being that he'd already had it and he was immune.

He's recently tested positive again and it's hit him pretty hard this time. Not real serious as of now but he's not feeling well for sure.

I guess that means immunity doesn't last all that long, even in young people.
