Interesting. The headline is that Dems "lockout" the Republicans, which implies that the Republicans were not allowed to participate in a committee meeting. When you actually read the story, however, the Democrats changed the locks on the doors so that the only time Republicans could get in is when there were actual committee meetings being held. The Republicans are NOT being precluded from attending and partiicpating in ANY commitee meetings. What they are being prevented from doing is holding mock meetings, without a quorum, designed purely as party politiics to make movies about things they want to take up, but can't, because they are in the minority.
The headline is very misleading here, and it sadly appears that a large number of you have glossed over the actual facts.

Towns’s staffers told Republicans they were not happy about the presence of the video camera in the hearing room when they were not present. Issa’s spokesman said the Democrats readily acknowledged to Republicans that they changed the locks in retaliation to the videotape of the Democrats’ absence from the business meeting even though committee rules allow meetings to be taped.
why should the be locked out of rooms and not allowed to meet?
if this happened to the demoncrats then there would have been an up roar.
a bunch of hypocritical whiney good for nothing, sorry excuses for leaders garbage
who didn't read the story?
Read it again. In context this time, if you don't mind.
Sheesz.
Here's a hint: the Dems left the meeting altogether. There'd be no quorum. The meeting was o-v-e-r. The republicans then videotaped themselves biatching about it, then spliced it with some political stuff, and put it out.
The Dems have every right to be pissed that the Republicans would employ such a retarded ploy. And frankly, as much as you all claim to be fiscal conservatives, I am surprised that you are not also upset with the Republicans for using public space and monies as a set for a political commercial.
They can meet all they want -- they just can't use the committee room as a commercial prop.

Thankfully, the Democrats got wind of it and changed the locks to prevent future abuses of the public trust.
