Then approval ratings should have been at 30% on day 1 of the war, death will come with combat.

I am certainly not arguing that, it is just tough to convince the American people that they were fighting a justified war. Therefore it is hard to convince them they died for something worth fighting for.
 
Yea, I looked again too. Bush 1 had them up in the 2 million range. Clinton got down to 1.5 million members.

I got you for sure on this one. There might have been some older stuff passed to the guard and reserve, but nothing that old left where I was.

The driver was an emphasis on safety and massive reduction in forces.

The age of the aircraft was not this issue.
 
apparently people forget that there are those on this board that were serving in that time period.
