1. I love the penny. I don’t want it gone. It makes me happy to find one “face up” in a parking lot, and chuckling at the sucker who picks up the one that I pass by “tails up.”

2. $179 mill is about 50 cents per American. Get rid of the penny and I guarantee it costs me more than 50 cents over the course of a year. Merchants aren’t going to round DOWN for my benefit.
