"It went good," Jones said of the trip as he and his family drove back to Louisiana. "I really liked everything about Tennessee. They showed me a lot of things and gave me plenty to think about."
The 6-foot-4, 302 pound Jones said he would not make a final decision on his college choice until Wednesday as he decides between Tennessee, Auburn and "probably" Michigan.
"I am ready to get all of this over with," Jones offered. "It's nice not to have any coaches coming by this week. After visiting Tennessee this weekend, they are a real factor making my decision.
Bastrop defensive lineman D.D. Jones paid an official visit to Michigan over the weekend.
Although it did not snow in Ann Arbor this weekend, Jones saw plenty of snow.
“Snow was piled up everywhere,” said Jones, who verbally committed to the Wolverines over the summer. “But it really wasn’t that cold to me.”
One of the highlights of the trip for the handful of recruits was getting to pay a visit to coach Rich Rodriguez’s home.
“We went to coach Rodriguez’s house and played pool,” Jones said. “It’s a three-story mansion.”
Overall, Jones says his visit, “went real good.”
Jones is also scheduled to visit Tennessee this weekend. Ed Orgeron, recently hired as the Volunteers’ defensive line coach, is expected to pay a recruiting visit to Bastrop today. Orgeron, the former Ole Miss head coach, spent last season as the New Orleans Saints’ D-line coach before joining Lane Kiffin’s staff in Knoxville.
Previously, Jones made official visits to Arkansas and Auburn. He is still considering both schools, along with Michigan and Tennessee.
Like Randle, Jones will not rush into making a decision.
“I probably won’t know where I’m going until signing day,” Jones said.
Here’s the latest according to a source, Auburn is out of the running for Jones.
He’s on his way to Knoxville to visit Tennessee. Arkansas, Michigan and Tennessee are the three finalists. The source has said in the past that Michigan was out of the picture but evidently Jones’ visit to Ann Arbor went real well.
The Vols get the last visit so that has to be a concern for Arkansas.
"It went good," Jones said of the trip as he and his family drove back to Louisiana. "I really liked everything about Tennessee. They showed me a lot of things and gave me plenty to think about."

Bastrop defensive tackle D.D. Jones said Tuesday night that he is leaning towards signing with the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Wednesday marks the first day that high school seniors are allowed to sign college football scholarships. Bastrop High will hold a National Signing Day ceremony on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
Although Jones has not ruled out Tennessee and Michigan, he says he expects to join the Razorbacks.
I could change my mind, but Im leaning towards Arkansas. Ill make a final decision (Wednesday), said Jones, who took an official visit to Auburn in addition to Arkansas, Tennessee and Michigan. Basically, I like everything about Arkansas. I really like the coaching staff.
If Jones has an 11th-hour change of heart, Tennessee would appear to have the inside track.
I want to play SEC ball, Jones said. Thats what I grew up watching.
