Derrick Henry, Bama's next RB bust?

"Jerome Bettis and Brandon Jacobs and Eddie George and Lynch were all good, but could they juke people side-to-side?"

There's more than one way to make people miss. Richardson failed because he had godawful vision, which Henry doesn't have. He'll be fine. If he went anywhere other than Bama, most on here would probably agree

Jerome Bettis had some of the most nimble feet ever for a big man.... I agree though that if henry has good vision he can be a beast.... Just one cut and go

No. I called him a bust based on watching him struggle to run in college without wide open gargantuan running lanes.

This horrible footwork doesn't surprise me.

I honestly felt the same way about him. Too many tackles for loss on him and often times by defenders that had no business bringing a guy that size down.

I just think it's goofy to take anything at all from this video.

It's beyond goofy. We're talking about one drill from his first NFL practice.

Did someone ever let D4H know that North wasn't drafted? Yet, we are supposed to take him seriously with all other talent evaluations

They did. But he countered with how stupid owners and general managers are. You know, people who make tons of money making those type decisions.

He is nothing like Eddie George, Hurd is a lot like George.

Hurd is comparable in size to Henry and there is a big difference between the two.

Henry is a downhill runner and he needs time to get going (slow acceleration) plus he has zero lateral quickness. That doesn't translate well into the NFL.

Sure he may be able to punch one in from time to time but he won't be an every down back. Especially not with the Titans because he is going to need a great O-line who created huge gaps in order for him to be successful. He isn't getting that there.

You sure he has "slow acceleration" and "needs time to get going"??

"According to "Sports Science," Henry's acceleration in the first 5 yards was the fastest time of any player analyzed at any position in the last three drafts.

He is also 26 percent faster than any other player tested in the last four drafts."

That's been shared already

Oh. Sorry, for the redundancy. The gap between perception and reality regarding Henry appears to be somewhat cavernous.

Initially I was just sharing a video I saw online and wasn't looking for an argument about whether or not he will be a bust because honestly it doesn't really matter to me.

However, I do think he will be one and already stated why I felt that way. It's obvious some of you feel different and that's fine, but telling me the same things over and over isn't going to change my mind.

Luckily we will get to see for ourselves in a few months.

what does it matter what Bammers do in the NFL? Who really cares.

We're still haven't beaten Bama sine '06

LenDale actually has better skills. He was just fat. As a pure runner LenDale was more talented than Reggie Bush.

This should show your talent evaluation abilities. What ways was he more talented? Outside of being built for the NFL, his vision and lateral quickness was atrocious

I have no idea why you draft a player from alasalami... no clue. Makes no sense. You know they are not NFL players, just over grown college players.

DoubleD's is sick of everyone ripping on his stupid "alasalami" shtick. So he's going to make everyone rip on his stupid football takes.

He was drafted by the Titans, he will most assuredly will be a bust.

With the way they have managed this franchise over the past 10 years, I view any player being drafted or traded to play in Nashville a bust in the making.

For the sake of those who still back the home state team, I hope whoever the GM is now runs things with more common sense than Bud Adams did in his later years.

And who get fired quickly if they cannot justify their draft selections.

It is very easy for him to make outlandish claims, because his butt is not on the line for them. His only risk is how faceless folks like us will react.

I hope North does well in the league. But to expect any GM of any NFL team to put his job on the line wasting a high draft pick on a player with pedestrian stats caused by a long history of injuries?

For him, NFL = Not For Long.
