Apparently, he's going to reopen his recruitment after Kelvin Sampson's dismissal. It might behoove Bruce to take a shot.

Do we have enough scholarships to get him and Scotty along with the other 3?

Tyler needs another year. He's not ready for the NBA if he can't finish strong in an off year for the SEC.

Ebanks is from Connecticut and was considering Miami (Fl.) and Rutgers along with Indiana. I'd say he'd be a long shot at best.

Maybe Pearl should focus his time on Hopson??

I thought some UT assistant said Tyler is definitely staying for his junior season?

I saw one draft board that had him projected as a late first/ early second rounder. If that opinion continues, he may do himself well to stick around one more year.

Incidently, that same draft board had Calathes and Speights going in the top 20.

Memphis has made contact with his AAU coaches. I say stick with Hopson. Bruce, Steve Forbes, and Tony Jones were all at his game tonight.

on rivals it says he only averaged 5 rebounds a game as a junior....5 and him being 6'8??

Here in Memphis they are saying that his getting out of his commitment to Indiana is 50/50 and if he does he is a lock for Memphis.

I think WWWes is involved.

Wes is always involved. In fact, he's tapping your phone as we speak.

Tyler needs to work on another dimension of his game before going to the nba: his shooting

We only have one scholly left for this year, and our need is at guard. I don't think we can take this guy unless Hopson doesn't come or Tyler leaves. And, if we tell Ebanks that he can't sign with us until we know what Hopson is doing, he'll probably ignore us, given his options.

I'm quite certain Bruce can find a scholarship to add an impact talent.

Are you suggesting that he run off next year's only senior Childress or fan-favorite Tabb?
1. I'm fairly certain Childress's family would be able to foot the bill for one year of school.
2. There's a certain transfer on the team whose family has access to tremendous financial resources and could go a long way to erasing his reputation for selfishness by giving up his scholarship for the greater good.

I suppose those are possibilities. I'm also concerned, though, that adding yet another forward could have a negative impact on chemistry - but, this does seem to be a group full of team players. I'm sure this is all a huge longshot though.

The chances he gets out of his LOI, if he wants to, are a whole lot better than 50-50.

I meant longshot in that Pearl goes after a player who UT wasn't recruiting or wasn't a finalist for to start with, convinces him to come to UT, frees up a scholly, and manages the increased PT logjam.

Are you suggesting TayShaun pay for J.P.'s education?
