1. I'm fairly certain Childress's family would be able to foot the bill for one year of school.
2. There's a certain transfer on the team whose family has access to tremendous financial resources and could go a long way to erasing his reputation for selfishness by giving up his scholarship for the greater good.

Not sure why I'm even responding to this thread but, since when did you have privilege to these families W2's and why should they have to "foot the bill" for their kid or family member who has earned their scholarship.

I'm all about having the best team possible but you've spent too much time in Philosophy 101 with this "great good" junk. You would have made Robin Hood proud though!

I figured, I just dont see the point. I know hat has ZERO love for J.P., but the kid earned his scholly as did Childress, it isn't right to ask them to pay their own way.

Coaches (esp. in BBall) ask kids to do that all the time...

A lot of people forget that scholarships are one year agreements, not 4 year agreements. You can get it ripped from you at anytime...

I realize that it is a one year agreement, I just don't feel that it's right especially when a guy like J.P. has earned his scholarship.

Again, it happens all the time... even to good players (or in this case, JP Prince).

Look fellas this guy will either stay at Indiana or will be attending Memphis. I would put my money on Memphis as the enigma known as WWWes is involved.

Hat your friends with Wes why don't you call him up and ask him.

Exactly what has Ryan Childress done this season to merit having his scholarship renewed?

The Childress family and I share a number of mutual friends in Cincinnati. I'm pretty sure the Detroit Pistons pay well. I don't need anyone's tax returns. Any more ridiculous questions you'd like to ask?

I'm sure thePistons pay well LOL but also remember JP's dad used to be a college basketball assistant coach at Memphis. I'm guessing he would have enough money to pay for JP to be on academic scholarship. However, I dont think we will have this problem, because I doubt we jump in on Ebanks with Hopson being a likely Vol.. JMO.

Give me some examples...the only one's I can think of are Wes Miller at UNC a couple years ago, and Taylor Rochestie at Wazzou. If you have other examples please let me in on them.

I can't see Pearl not renewing someone's scholly to bring in a guy at a position that we're stacked at, 5-star or not. And, if he starts to not renew schollies, other coaches will use that against him on the recruiting trail.

Bob Knight gassed almost an entire roster when he got to Texas Tech. Tim Floyd has jerked multiple scholarships since arriving at USC.

i would say that right now, the odds are with us. The people that say if UK gets in it, then he's theirs, are irrational. the fact is, they aren't really in it right now. the only basis for saying he's all UK if they come around is that his mom seems interested. the kid himself, has said nothing about UK.

Is his mother interested or just feeding the media truthful responses like, "No, Gillispie hasn't called," and "Yes, we'd talk to UK"? My interpretations of his recruitment are sometimes clouded with orange though. I think her comments can be read any way you want to read them.
