Stefanie Dolson and Morgan Tuck? Sorry, but what have they done lately (besides graduate from UConn) to warrant an invite?

My opinion, Sue bird, Diana, what is Morgan Tuck doing there? Dolson did not score pass 10 points this season. They all should not be in the National team. Bird & Diana are old, thank u very much and I appreciate them both. Players now suppose to be Tina, Maya, Breana that's it for Uconn. Diamond should be there.

Where are those who had called her out?

Cancer?

It wasn't the cancer, just didn't have a cancer specialist in the Dr's pool

She is back in the same environment that she excelled in...((the "You don't perform, you don't play!" environment)
And the "sky" probably has an oncologist on staff.

So I just realized she was not one of the 16 named as a finalist to the WC team. She has time to make future national teams but she got left behind for some questionable decisions. I guess attending certain schools really do help.

Well Dolson is no longer with the team either and it's TBD if Tuck makes it. Both are fine players but I don't see either of them being major contributors to a national team. DI disagree about Bird and Taurasi being too old. Neither are spring chickens but both have demonstrated the last few years in the WNBA they still have gas in the tank. Given how young guards like Diggins, McBride, Thomas, Gray all turned down spots the US needs guards and veterans to help carry the torch. I like Collier quite a bit and think she has great potential for the national team and in the pros.

I think Diamond has a great shot to make the team the next cycle if she plays well in the WNBA, demonstrates she's a quality teammate and commits to the national program.

I think it's insane that Tuck and Collier are on the team over Diamond, who's coming off a very good rookie season...better than anything Morgan accomplished in 3 seasons. They all play at the wing, so it seems Morgan/Napheesa are on the team only because they are UConn. What other rationale would there be, especially for Napheesa over players with more accolades from last season (Teaira, Kalani, Asia, Arike, Victoria, etc...)

They probably don’t care to read about her success if that’s what they thought to begin with.

DD needed a certain type of coaching. Not her fault. . . Kinda CHW's because she has to recognize these things when choosing players... personality and coach/player chemistry are just as important as pedigree in choosing your personnel. . . When setting up a team, "Can I coach this player" takes precedence "Can I be a friend to this player."

You'll see what I mean this year.
These players have internal drives in them.
Not a Diamond in the bunch (pun intended)

But CHW still has to be able to push the right buttons for them to stay focused when they lose focus in a game (time out).

With this group I don't think that will happen often, but it WILL happen.

For better or worse program pedigree and name recognition helps. Neither Tuck nor Collier are on the team yet, they just lasted longer at trials. I do think at least one and possibly both make it if EDD can't play. Diamond had a fine rookie year but we will never know why she was cut. Collier is a much more versatile player than the others you listed from what I have observed.

I'm not a UConn apologist at all, just my opinion. I hope Diamond has a great career in the WNBA and think she can put herself in the conversation for the next few cycles because she showed up and participated. USA basketball has traditionally rewarded loyalty and I doubt some of the guards who passed on the invitation get another shot unless there were very good reasons, which is fully possible. It's not an exact science picking these teams.

If I were other players, I would leave that team for uconn players to go and represent USA.
