She does her best for the team every day. Where do you see the team going as long as she is HC?

Diamond did what was best for herself and let everyone in TN down for what? Because her "friend" couldn't stay out of trouble and got booted from school?

Then she should have acted like a grownup and had a face to face conversation with the coach (Don't care what you think of the coach) and not quit in the most gutless, disrespectful, lowdown, and trashy way possible AFTER she made a gushy, oohey-gooey, multi-page Instagram post saying she was coming back.

One other thing: Jolette Law's departure was an opportunity she could not refuse. It was a chance of a lifetime that would take her back to her home state and allow her to be much nearer her precious mother, whom she adores. It was emotionally hard on her. When she announced she was leaving, there were lots of tears and emotion. She didn't bail. She had close relationships and it was difficult.

Alexa's departure had nothing to do with "Holly being a sorry coach," as you said.

Stop making statements on things you know nothing about.

Hey, 1CV - Has anybody ever come up with an explanation on DD's comments about that, "She would be in Dallas next year?" I've seen lots of talk that she has to go through the draft and that there is no way Dallas will get to pick her (assuming she goes high).

Also - did you see where she apparently got to sit on or right behind the bench for Dallas's game she attended recently? I guess it's who you know. LOL

But had she stayed and this coming season just been another repeat of the previous, plenty of people would have blamed her and that could devalue her even more.

Now that she is gone, we get to see how this season plays out. And if it turns out to be a turnaround, Diamond missed out on being part of something special.

But if it continues to be a train wreck, I guess Holly's friends will have to find another player to blame.

There are two ways to solve a problem you can't solve...Bring on someone who is a problem solver, or, get rid of the problem.

The latter seems to be the plan. Whatever the methodology, the Alpha's are gone. Jollette, DD, Cooper...The only one left by my assessment is Meme. . . I have studied as much video on the new recruits as I could find and they all seem to be Beta's. If my assessment is correct, then CHW will no longer have players who follow their own beat.

In the case of a Beta leader, you want Beta players. You don't lose skill or intensity by not having an Alpha, you just lose the "personality"... Hopefully CHW will stay with this theme and not hire an Alpha coach now. She doesn't need one. But she still needs a skills coach who can help her with continuity and fluidity on offense.

well I do hate that DD left the team,but if she doesn't want to be here,don't let the door hit you on the way out :)

we will probably never know why she decided to leave,probably nothing as bad as some think,it maybe we will never know,or just hear her side of it

Holly ain't great, but i do not see this year's departures as being commected with her in a substantial way.

And I expect her to still be with us throughout the season.....

Whatever happened to belligerent players having to run extra miles and miles and miles?
Is UT trying to develop some kind of cream puff reputation to recruit and keep players?
It is natural for players on the same team developing and expressing a love/hate relationship.
It is an"us against the world" attitude that seems to be missing and failing to unite Vol
Women's basketball and that really needs to change.

But before that, she made a great start to getting a raise and an extension. If her boss, not a negafan with an agenda, looks at the whole body of work, she will remain the coach even with just an improvement over the Diamond Show.

Maybe you should pray for a really bad season with a lot of cancerous chemistry and selfish star players that only try when they feel like it. Oh, wait, they left. Lol

God forbid for anyone including me to pray for a" bad season "......no one needs to do that because it will happen on its own just like the last two .

The thing I don't understand about this thread is why people can't just say thanks for your time here and move on. These are their actual lives, you are just a spectator. People keep saying oh they aren't that bad they beat 4 Top 10 teams we will be better off without them yada yada yada.... well you wouldn't have beaten those 4 without Diamond (& Cooper didn't even play last year) so the logic there makes no sense.

You do not get those 4 wins without her period and most of those wins were by slim margins at that, even with her and Nared putting up big numbers at times, in particular, in the wins vs South Carolina & Mississippi State.

This year will test all the risky assumptions made by fans. I do suspect however that fault will always be found if this coming season is a bust. That is the only thing a fan can find. They have zero control over the remedy. Who's job is it to find a remedy? Who's job is it to implement the remedy?

In my profession we would do an AWoB (Autopsy without Blame). Things are amiss from the fans perspective but has the coaching staff even said they feel like they are off track? They may be completely content with where they are. In fact for all you know they have a master plan and they are way ahead of schedule of where they thought they would be given Holly has only been a head coach for such a short period of time. If they lose 10 games every year for the next 5 years but still make it to the E8 do you guys really even care? March matters right?

Pretty good assessment. You're a UConn fan right? How did your fans react when Geno had that string of E8s (2005- sweet 16, 2006, 2007). Then I think the Maya Moore came to town for you guys. Many fans on here have thanked DD for her services but with this fan base many people believe their is a LV way to do things and the way she handled it wasn't the LV way. I have no problem with her going pro! I pray she has a long and prosperous career as she is a talent. HOWEVER, I really believe if she had not made a spectacle of coming back this would not even be an issue. If she had rode off into the sun no one would of blamed her. But she seemingly took her ball and went home when Te'a got into trouble and was excused by the university not HW. No one was mad when C. Parker left because she did it the classy way like a LV is expected. Shoot Pat encouraged her to go to the next level. But it was done with respect which seemed lacking in the DD situation. Again it's her life and as a fan her decisions don't impact me. But a lot can be said when her teammates express sadness over seeing Alexa and Coach Law leave but when it came to other players it didn't really come across as a bad thing.

FOR THE record better chemistry may not produce those close wins you spoke of however I would not say our players won't win the game because a player is gone. now they may play for each other more so if the chemistry is better. The fun part is even from the short clips there looks to be a bunch of smiles with the ladies that were training together.
