Diamond out!!

When Diamond is drafted in the WNBA, thy will associate her with tennessee and on the roster it will say Tennessee. She graduated from Tennessee. Diamond will be a VFL IMO, but she will ALWAYS be remembered how she left.

Boneheaded comment by me. DD obviously isn't attending another college so I guess it's up to each person whether she's considered a VFL. IMO, she is not. i don't like the way her whole leaving thing went down. Not just the instagram post which has turned out to be all lies, but also the way she told holly.

And she quit the team via a short text message. And apparently when asked about telling her teammates, she essentially said "not my problem".

You should lose LVFL status just for that alone.

Just sad & wrong.

Amen, brother! She suuuuuucks.

Nope

My question was answered more or less.

1. No. This is not something created by the school or even the players.

2. It is completely subjective. Each fan has their own opinion on what that means. Some may claim that player as a Tennessee player once they move on, some will not consider their contributions as noteworthy, or attached to the University at all.

The one part that still makes no sense to me... a player can transfer in and if they leave in good standing could be considered a LVFL. For example, Nunn. That completely contradicts the idea that they "bleed orange" and have no other allegiances when obviously they did because they "quit" their previous team and transferred to Tennessee.

By that measure alone no player who transfers in to to Tennessee could ever be a LVFL. Either way it was fun to hear the different opinions. What I gather though is had DD just declared at the end of the season for the draft... she would be considered a LVFL. Thanks to those who answered!

not if she started dissing the school/coach/team. dequitter is not a lvfl and can never be.

Nunn gave her all for UT, for the limited time she could. She finished in good standing.

Allegiance and perseverance are included in the definition, though those are foreign concepts to some. Transfers must show those attributes to be LVFLs. It matters not how long you are here.

It is a mentality and a heart thing.
Alexa played for this university like her life depended on it, every minute. She played the last game of her career here, with a broken nose from the game before.

That is the essence of VFL....Give it your all when you represent. Never half-effort or half-"there"

I started taking notice of the LV program in 1982. . . There hasn't been another favorite for me in all of those years...I am a VFL

no, Alexa is not a VFL because she quit, this isn't hard to understand. :(

You are obviously not a LVFL if you quit and play for another college team. You can go pro early and still be considered a VFL. Alexa, DD, jalen Hurd are NOT VFL. Alvin kamara, Candace Parker, etc ARE VFL.

is the comprehension ability of our visitor posters not up to 1st grade level?

So you would consider Alexa a LVFL? Don't mean to put you on the spot and if you feel like you're gonna get flack for your answer no need to reply but it seems like you feel like she was/is/played like a LVFL based on your experience with her and your knowledge of what the fan base expects?

All i know is I wouldn't consider Diamond a LV4L!!

The way she left was completely distasteful and classless.

It's subjective in my eyes.

I see it as a frame of mind. A LVFL should aspire to the ideals that Pat established for being a Lady Vol. Being called a Lady Vol should be an immense source of pride. They should love the program and cherish their time in Knoxville. Orange and blue should course through their veins. To me, it's not how long they were in the program or if they finished at Tennessee. It's all about how they feel. It doesn't seem like Diamond feels that way but I have yet to hear her say anything so I will refrain from commenting on her. Time will tell.

Some of you posters need to grow up.
Diamond graduated and that makes her a Lady Vol for Life. She hasn't done anything to hurt this program so why the lynch mob. Get over it.
Diamond ties to this University and team will last way longer than your LVFL entitlement. Is this the way you treat alumni.
I care least about DD but I'm really worried about some of your state of mind. Chase off future LVFL. Many high school ballers respect DD more than UT.
DD is new breed breeding. Feel me.
Revisit her interviews. The problem is many don't read the handwriting on the wall.
Two posters was trying to reveal much of what players was saying but many did the Ray Charles and others did the Stevie Wonders. Feel me. I know you don't but I will be glad to explain my last words. Think bout it.
Time to leave this one alone and move on, making us look badddd.

A lot of stone throwing from the crowd...DD finally did what was best for her. Staying another year would only add to her frustration and yours. You need to get over this idea that people are laying down their lives to be a VFL. Just because you feel that blood needs to be shed, that is not how all of us feel. After all, this is just a game!

So, If someone gets married, barely lets the marriage license ink dry then says, I'm out of here, doesn't tell the spouse why and just says "that's your problem", would they still be considered married for life?

It's not what she did, it's the manner in which she did it, which was completely without integrity and going back on her word. Even the going back on her word, had she initiated a conversation and said, "Listen, I've had a change of heart, and I need to go," that would have even been acceptable, but that's not what she did. She let them hear about it elsewhere and they had to contact her to find out if it was true. If you don't think that's lowdown and unethical, well, then I don't know what to say except, "Wow," and I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

If she had done it three months ago, no one would have been upset. She can do whatever she wants, but there are consequences for one's actions when you don't do the right thing.

She is not a LVFL, in my opinion. She didn't want to be.

I have to agree. The way the notification was done was somewhat dubious and certainly not the way a VFL would have done it.

This ... this actually made me laugh 😆. This was a three year marriage though. So this was like getting married. The spouse helps you get healthy, you stick around, make promises to the kids. Then bounce at the last minute with someone younger or who has more money not telling the family anything ... 🤔

It is what it is til it isn't ... had DD not made a spectacle about coming back this would not be going down like this. AGAIN I have no problem with her going pro I just have a problem with the way this was done. When Alexa left you saw Holly said " Alexa has shared with me..." nothing like that was said about DD. Anyways I'm over it honestly but I can see why people are upset by it. It's not always what you say (which she should not have made that long post) it's about how you say it (or lack of commuication).

Also it seems like a hissy fit is thrown because her friend got into trouble and was asked to leave the university. So imma take my ball and go home type of deal. Thankfully DD graduated and I wish her all the best. Her talents were never in question and I hope to see her on maybe an Olympic team or something like that! Because like another poster said she will have TN alumn by her name!

So the sorry Coach can come out and lie about a player not being with the team anymore and its alright, if I'm not mistaking we found out from another party about Tea??

A player does something to that extent(not sure on the situation) we hold them more accountable than the coach, I wonder were she learned it from??

We are down 3 players and 1 assistant coach and this is a players fault??
No one wants to associate with a sorry coach its only so much one can take but everybody gets the blame but the person in charge this is crazy our coaching sucks period!!

If the coach doesn't owe us a explanation why does the player??

Agree to disagree
