Dick Vitale disses and ignores Vol Win

I heard him with my own ears the other day say that Bruce Pearl was good for college basketball. I don't think he would hold a 20 year grudge for something with which he wasn't remotely involved. He sucks, for sure, but it's not because he dislikes Pearl, that would be excusing him from being terrible at picking games...

If you expect Dick Vitale to say anything of value or add sort of real insight or analysis, you will be sadly disappointed. Dick V is a joke. His antics were somewhat humorous when I was in high school, but it has been elevated to the level of the absurd. When he comes on the TV, I usually leave the room, turn on the mute button, or I just do my best to tune him out. You can't expect anything out of Vitale other than praising the team/coach/player that is generally considered to be better or choosing the "safer pick." For God's sake, have you heard him salivate over Calipari? Vitale falls over himself to praise Calipari's Final Four accomplishments while not ever mentioning the vacated wins or the schools he left on probation. Vital is a bad joke and a waste of good airtime.

Somebody might have gotten to Dick Vitale, because in a Sunday morning interview on ESPN he actually praised Tennessee and there was even footage of team play, unlike before the game when Vitale discussed the region's four teams and discussed every team but UT. He gave credit to Chism and the Vols athletic play, but said little about Michigan State except that Izzo was a tournament god. He said they ought to erect a statue in honor of Izzo at MSU. Not so quick, Dick. The Vols win going away. 74-60.
