Did anyone catch espn halftime show

in the tcu vs utah halftime show... they talked good about tennessee. They said we actually have the edge in this one..... they talked about our recievers being tallented and our running game being a powerhouse! anyone else see this?

honestly... i dont like being talked up similiar to what they just said.... i think all in all we would beat florida 9 times outa 10 but typical tennessee football is better when the odds are against us... atleast we still are underdogs by 6

Let's be honest. We may be a little nervous about the unknown in Florida's offense, but I think they have to be just as concerned that it won't work.

Urban Meyer's not a stupid guy. During the game they talked to him on the phone and he said that this is the most talented team that he has EVER played and mentioned Ohio State as a team he played I think.

Anyway, this is all the more reason that I'm hoping we put a pounding on UF. I hate the thought of being the team that "made" UM legit....

Lots of good points being made here. I agree that Florida has to be a little nervous deep down that the Urban Myth could be exposed. All the hype, the ranking, playing at home, the fact that the series has turned in our favor - the pressure is on them to peform or they'll be perceived as the same old joke they became the past couple of years.

I actually feel really good about this game.

As to UM&#39;s comments about UT&#39;s talent, I get the feeling UM has been doing a lot of "expectation control" this year. His disparaging remarks about the team all offseason will come in handy as an "I warned you" after a loss. And giving UT the talent kudos is double-coverage. It makes him look like superman if he wins; it makes his offense look less inept if we win.

Just my thoughts.

I think there is a little too much UTK fan excitement about the "Chris Leak is going to get killed running option" philosophy. Meyer has said repeatedly that this is not the same offense that they ran at Utah with Alex Smith. He says they have curtailed it to the personnel they have at Florida. He knows Chris Leak is not very agile and has cut back on the QB running plays. So, I hope we get some good shots on him but I&#39;m not expecting him to be running down field very often.

What the hell is wrong with you people. As a UF grad and having attended the last 8 games at the Swamp between these teams and 3 at your beloved stadium, where in the world do you folks get off with the venom you have against Chris Leak and Urban Myer? I have been observing this board for more than 3 months and just cannot get over your attitude as a group. You have a great program as does Florida. No one thinks less of the Vols than the Gators. We have the utmost respect for your team, accomplishments, and tradition. Why can&#39;t you just speak to the factual aspects of why you think you will win without taking cheap, personal shots? Chris is a great young man and a very good QB. Urban is a great coach that is in the middle of undoing a lot of wrong that was implemented by Zook. The Florida Gator players are not scared, we are realists. We understand that change is a process, not a "flip of the switch". Frankly, I expect the Vols to come in an be very effective doing what they always do, run...run....run...and pass when you have to. Can the Gators stop what they know is coming will be a very big question. I also expect the UM has not shown all his cards so it will be another question of how quickly the Vols react to the new wrinkles they have not seen on film. This is a pick&#39;em game in my mind with both teams having more than enough talent to win.

I don&#39;t think it is personal - it is all about the media hype both CL & UM have recieved. The stories of the "return to glory". It just all seems a bit premature - all w have heard is how great lek is under UM&#39;s system - and yeah the stats look great but look at the opponent.

I think you are "observing" with a little chip on your shoulder - should be a great game and I look forward to us stomping a mud hole in Urbans legacy&#33;&#33;

You&#39;ll have to forgive some of us if we don&#39;t have a particularly positive opinion of Chris Leak. He may be a great guy, but his recruitment turned into a soap opera and he said some things he shouldn&#39;t have.

As a whole, the UF fanbase has proven itself as viscious and classless. Take a look at gatorsports messageboard any given day and you&#39;ll see. There are fans there today bragging about putting skinks in UT fans&#39; tailgating food, about spitting on them, threatening them, etc...

Stick around and see how we, on the other hand, interact with UF fans who show up and have civil conversations. Better yet, stick around, show some class, and make some friends here yourself.

I would not say I have a "chip on my shoulder", maybe just a bit shocked at the way UF players, coaches, and the program as a whole is hated on this board. I vacation every year in Gatlinburg (i&#39;ll be there in less than a month) and have always been impressed by the devotion showed by Vols fans. I actually pull for the Vols and every other SEC team except when they are playing the Gators.

Just to make things perfectly clear, don&#39;t let the media speak for the UF fans. Yes, we are happy to have UM here, but he has alot to prove to us. Remember, we know what winning is like and we expect to win again. UM is our hope, not our LOCK that we will win again. The media may portray him as a LOCK, but the fans are far more conservative with their view of him. And I can&#39;t speak to what Chris did during his recruiting time but he has been nothing but exceptional both on and off the field for UF.

Come on . . . don&#39;t tell me that you are going to judge any fan base based on some of the dopes that post on message boards. Florida fans may be misguided , but most of them are good people.

OK - so ignore the chip on the shouder comment - but everyone is more defenses of comments about their teams than others. if I were to go on a UF board or a LSU board i bet you OI could find the same thing about UT. So just remember where you are and expect to see that kind of stuff. people have different experiences so some may have a negative concept.
