Did anyone else notice the announcers/reporters on Milton?

I have looked through a few threads and haven't really seen it noted. They talked about his running capabilities and the reporter mentioned that CJH had mentioned that he is finally healthy.

Now by all accounts he has had his troubles being a 6th year player. He is still not and will ever be Hendon Hooker. HH had more weapons and a better OL to work with. I would be hard pressed to think he will be passing for 300+ yards in any games left on the season.

Maybe we will see them open the offense on up now. How sweet would a 2RB set be with Sampson/Wright in the backfield/slot. Talk about a 3 headed monster.

Since he started running from second half of the season, the box has been a bit lighter and he has been able to pick up some good 1st downs. It has eased some pressure here after that awful TAMU game and Milton actually has had decent outing.

I doubt we see a 2RB set given we run up-tempo offense without substituting. I would love to see something like that in Red-zone to be honest.

Auburn had 53 yds passing against UGA but ran Knox Thorn quite a bit...and they only lost by 7. They kept Bowers and Beck off the field and ate up a lot of clock on the ground. Our run game is WAY better than Auburn and if GI JOE can get a few deep ones, we might be able to stay in it for 4 qtrs.

I hope Bazooka Joe throws for 300+ against Georgia. The haters here wouldn't know what to do with themselves.
he was 18 of 21 for 220 yards with one TD and no turnovers on a night when we had a dominant running attack and people are still moaning about Joe Milton. Just goes to show how little the general fan base knows about football.

Joe is not Hendon Hooker and next year we may find out that Nico is not either. I am satisfied with the wins and the job this coaching staff is doing with what they have to work with.

I thought Milton did great this past weekend. The past few games he has pulled chocks and run, which he hadn't done but what, maybe once before? He has actually trucked a few fools as well. But the big one for me was when he was running to his right and threw across his body on target to the wideout. Haven't see that AT ALL before.

The end of this season is going to be interesting. It always surprises me that people think we are limiting our offense for one reason or another. The fact of the matter is that the defensive alignment dictates our play call more than anything else.

Our running game has been so good this year because 1) the execution is good and 2) opponents are going 6 vs 6 in the box at a very high percentage. It will be very interesting to see if UGA can contain us hat on a hat. I don't think they can.

The passing game has been less effective because there is deep safety help which allows more physical coverage at LOS. We still take our shots when they go single high safety but we aren't getting that look very often. One thing that we did sometimes in 2021 that I don't remember doing in 2022 or 2023 is shooting the TE straight down the seem. I don't know why that isn't in the playbook anymore, but sending Castles straight down the seam on play-action would seem to be a cover 2 / cover 3 buster.

I think we see some two back sets but it’s usually with one of the WRs or TEs lined up in the back field - not the traditional two back set.

Just can't allow GA to load the box all the time to stop our run. If they are determined to stop the run & make Joe beat them with his arm we may be in trouble. Why? Not that I don't have confidence in Joe it's just that I think GA's DBs will play our receivers too close & the possibility of a pick would go up. So Joe has to be accurate & our receivers have to go after the ball. If they can do that it will open up the running game; if they can't we might be in trouble. We certainly can't stand any pick 6s. Joes' running can help too. GA is beatable & now's the time. As for Heupel, we can't run into the teeth of their defense/line all the time. Plus are the Refs going to call any PI or holding in our favor--we'll see.

Well Joe most likely has 4 games plus a bowl left in his entire football career so better to open up whatever he has left in him.
If you think he won’t get drafted you need to follow the NFL more closely. Getting drafted and succeeding are two different things, but he’ll absolutely get his chance.

I was shocked ( in a good way) to see him accurate on rollouts and his desire to pick up positive yardage by plowing into the defender.
Played his best game in orange.
No doubt about it. There were only 2-3 dropbacks where he went deer in headlights. Looks like Heupel has just about scrapped anything that involves the middle of the field where the reads get confusing.

Brings to mind what kiffen did with Crompton, he got him out of the pocket and he became a better passer. Might be on to something with Joe. Taking the brain out of the equation can do remarkable things.

We had 500 yds of offense vs UK. What does opening up the offense look like to you?

I think Heupel wanted to keep Milton healthy as long as he could. 2nd half of A&M was time to throw precaution to the wind. Since then, there’s no reason to hold back.

Highly highly doubt this. He may get signed as a free agent walk on but he won't get drafted in 7 rounds of the NFL draft unless someone drafts him with plans to use him as something other than a QB, like tight end.

Typically 10 to 12 QBs get drafted every year on average. Joe is definitely not one of the top 12 QBs in college football that is looking to get drafted.

He may be a walk on at best but he will never see the field as a starter (at QB), just no. I'm sorry I'm not bashing him just saying what I think is the truth.
