I know there is really nothing more to say about Dooley at this point but I never thought it could get this ugly.

My god, what I wouldn't give for 4 or 5 conference wins these days. No one can say we are "spoiled" anymore. This is the football equal of living through the great depression.

I just hope there is someone out there that can turn this thing around in a few years ala Saban. This is very, very bad. I honestly don't know if we ever fully rocover from this, at least not for another 10-12 years.

Hell, is Bill Battle still around?

No

I thought watching us lose to VU and N Texas under CBB would be the worst I would ever see.

For once in my life I was wrong

Resumes matter. How this guy got the offer is beyond me. That idiot Hammy must have ignored the track record and just gone with:
Name: Dooley
Worked With: Saban

The 17-20 record must have been ignored. Now we are, for all practical purposes...dead.

If you turned on Fulmer you deserve ever bit of this. I knew it would be every bit as bad as what Bama went through when they fired Stallings. We still have 3-4 horrible coaches to get through before we get back to being an elite program. See ya in 10 years.

I've got to be honest, I thought we would win out, and I thought Dooley should still be fired. I cannot believe we lost a game with a two TD lead to Mizzou.

I'm worried the Mizzou loss has really tarnished the program in potential replacement eyes. I think Hart's job just got tougher. He's got to find Gruden-calibre replacement. If he can't, he may well have to be replaced for allowing Dooley to hang around long enough to completely embarrass himself and our program.

I know it is easy to see how "great" things were under Fulmer but we were getting butchered by all our rivals and suddenly unable to win a bowl game. Not to mention 2005:sick:

I will take Fulmer over this poor dope anyday.

The fact that Hamilton made an incredibly bad hiring decision has no bearing on the fact that it was time for Fulmer to go. And it was time for Fulmer to go.

It was over as soon as most of his staff packed up and left last year.

Few, including myself, wanted to admit it though.

I'm not sure if it was time for Fulmer to go BUT I am sure Kiffens departure caused this mess. If Kiffin stayed and played by the rules (doubtful) we would be in good shape right now.

I don't think they fired Stallings.

This and the KY loss last year.

And fighting tooth and nail to beat Akron and Troy at home.

Humble pie taste like S*I*!!!

Again, if you think this then you deserve this. Was Tennessee sliding down in the last few years under Fulmer? Yes. Was it so bad that we should have booted the best UT coach in our life time? No! Phil and Chief bleed orange and wanted this thing to turn around more then anyone and had the ability to do giving the time. But time is not something the average vol fan was willing give him. Which is a shame because the timeline is about 5 times what it would have been. #nationalchamps2023

What is past is past, and is useless to argue. forget Fulmer, the number of players getting arrested justified his firing. forget kiffin and dooley, hamilton's incompetence caused that. forget chief (I assume you mean chavis), his two minute defense failed miserably against Bama last week. I don't know, but it is time go get someone who can stand the heat in the big orange kitchen. Someone that understands the concept of dominating defense, strong special teams, discipline, and game management. The man we need is in Boise Idaho. nuff said

After Dooley was hired, what's happened since then was well within the realm of realistic outcomes.

Hiring a big name coach will be easier now than it was when we hired CDD, who has done a good job of rebuilding the program, but he isn't winning.
It appears he is a better administrator than he is a coach. :twocents: :dunno:
