Did Barnes try to recruit Blue Cain

Well... Cain's a player and we have no clue if we have one better than him or not. He would've been a welcomed addition to the team this year. Doesn't mind SCORING. Unlike JJJ, who's turned back into super beta +.

He doesn’t even start at Georgia. He would’ve never seen the floor on this team.

Some of our local players just don't want to stay in Knoxville, we were recruiting him in HS he had an offer from us early on too. (April of 2021, his 5th offer).

He was going to Georgia Tech for awhile even signed/decommitted there and then ended up at Georgia. Seems like he liked being near Atlanta.

He also moved to Florida for his last year of HS as well.

Yup. And I don’t know his upbringing, but if he grew up a Vols fan he could be a transfer candidate in a year or two if he continues to develop.

Hes a true freshman, correct? Not many TF have played for Barnes. He looks like player to me. I've seen him several times this year and he doesn't look afraid to score like most of our team. "He wouldn't see the floor" is speculation, but you're probably right. Barnes needs to make sure he can fight through a screen first.

We have freshman who are stuck behind players averaging 2 points a game in SEC play so he must not be much worse than what we have.

On his worst day, Barnes forgot more about the game than you know about it on your best day

That could eventually be true. The poster I responded to was claiming we need him now in his continuing efforts to bash Barnes
It is hard to say. You never know Barnes may have wanted him more than who he ended up with. Kid may have like Georgia better.

Santi, JJJ heck even Mashack got some run in yr 1. OK might have gotten some run as well

All guys that would have exhibited in practice that they’re capable of competing at this level. I don’t get so many posters thinking that sticking players that can’t get it done in practice relative to the ones that are getting the minutes is going to help TN be more competitive. The objective is to win EVERY game - not to “develop” the less capable players (that might be gone next year anyway). The new group of regulars next year can get their “development” minutes in the November/December buy games at the start of next season. I’m sure that the staff will schedule oppononents appropriate to the roster on hand. This year (2023-24) they put together murderers row to test and push this year’s upperclassmen oriented team.
