Did dooley have any type of speech or anything after being fired to say thanks for the oppurtunity, had a good time, etc. Like phillip fulmer did? I thought most coaches have speeches after they leave a college, I may be wrong I was just just wondering.

You won't see too many exit pressers that were more bizarre than Kiffin's or Fulmer's.

yes. I'm pretty sure he had a couple of lines when Hart released the statement.

There was a comment from him in the press release announcing his firing but he didn't take questions.

He actually released a very professional statement...

“I am sorry we could not generate enough wins to create hope for a brighter future,” said Dooley. “Although progress was not reflected in our record, I am proud of the strides we made to strengthen the foundation for future success in all areas of the program.

“During the last 34 months, I’ve given my all for Tennessee, and our family appreciates all this University and the Knoxville community has given us.”

Man...there's a BUNCH of in-breds on here...smh

I am amazed that people would expect him to show up and take questions after his dismissal. I know it happens sometimes, but no need for it. Why make the guy sit there and hear tons of questions about why he failed and what type of coach will replace him. What would it prove or help to have the guy sit there during that? It would just make a few angry fans feel better maybe but what more can he do? He didnt get it done. He got fired. He left. Seems fine to me. I think he did the right thing in just walking away right then, JMO

Yea, there is a ton coming out about how much a class act he actually was.

1) telling brick masons at Neyland how to do their jobs
2) Telling light bulb salesmen to "have their act together when he comes back."
3) failing to keep touch with tri-state area high schools.
4) numerous vendors speaking about how much of a jerk Dooley is.

We can go on and on and on...

Dooley isn't this great and wonderful person that he was made out to be. He single-handedly isolated the program from so many great relationships (mostly TN/GA/Bama high schools)

Never mind that assistants left CDD in groves..

He may not have broke the rules of the NCAA but he didn't do anything positive for UT... Save for CP...that was a home run..

Yes I am a recovering Doolaider....funny what reality does to perception,

Fulmer was given his press conference to leave because he earned it with actually winning here, giving everything he could to the university, etc.

Dooley didn't earn much of anything.
