Did Jim Chaney Fire Sal Sunseri?

I would think that Chaney is just a "figure head" coach with no firing authority.

Realizing that all public authorities are not "figure heads" was the ultimate mistake of this post. $$$ is the final answer always has been and always will be.

Some people on here will believe anything.

Chaney will be our next Head Coach to keep our O solid and so the players won't have to learn a whole new O and it will save UT money.

CJC will then keep Graham and Pittman and whoever else is on our current coaching staff that he thinks can really help him rebuild our program and that will also save UT more money.

AD Hart will try to get a homerun hire but when everyone tells Hart NO THANKS then Chaney will go from interim to the new Head Coach quickly so he can get a staff hired and get busy recruiting as fast as he can.

You heard it here first folks.

Wow you never cease to amaze me :eek:lol: I will guarantee 110% Jim Chaney will NOT be Tennessee's head coach...In fact You can almost bet he won't even be here when the new coach takes over.

Probably safe to say Sal won't land a DC job anywhere unless it's some small school...even that might be a longshot

There was a guy from Pa. that used to call Hyams once a week and tell him about Sunseri at Alabama and how Tennessee should go after him as their HC. He claimed Sunseri would be the greatest coach since Neyland. This was a couple years ago way before Sunseri was hired here. I wonder what that guy is thinking now?

I know cool story bro

It wasn't me.

No No No, settle down guys. What really happened was some players saw Chaney sneak up behind Sal with a bic and try to lite his pants on fire, that's all. That Chaney, hes such a joker!

BTW, a lot of people liked the Sunseri hire last winter. Most of us thought he was an upgrade to Wilcox, loved his mobster style and the fact we were transitioning into the 3-4. It didn't work out and the lesson we all need to learn is to be a little skeptical, look for proven success in this league at the level of responsibility we are hiring and not simply jump on the adoration train.

If you don't believe me or want to remember how we all felt, here are some links to keep you occupied:

I wouldn't think that Jim Chaney would have the authority to fire Sal Sunseri.

I would think that with Dooley gone that would fall directly to Dave Hart, and is Dave Hart going to give an interim coach the authority to authorize that kind of buyout?

Actually Dave Hart said in the press conference that Chaney will take over all duties and coaching responsibilities.

We have the same line of thinking my friend. :good!: was thinking the same thing and was looking around to see if it had been thrown out there.

Not saying this will be the case but it is feasible. If Hart can't go out and hire someone that will guarantee wins ASAP and generate money then no need to waste money. Keep Chaney as the 1 yr interim and then get someone with time. It's worked recently with the likes of Oh st. A new coach could benefit from that buffer yr. many on here still go back to hiring Kiffy Brown as the interim for a yr. same deal. Way to many job openings out there. The market is in the coachs hands, so hart is going to have to spend more than he may be able to.

Not saying it happens but don't be surprised if it does yall.

I would be okay with Chaney as HC if we were all dead and zombies walked the earth freely...

because that is how I feel when I see his coaching style against SEC teams.
