Larry Bird, the Byrds...I'm starting to see a trend here.

I love the Byrds because they are great and because the are the ones who influenced Dylan to go electric.
You need to dig into their post hippy dippy stuff. They started out as a radio friendly folk rock band, but after parsons joined and deserted the band, turning it into a country rock band, they turned into one of the greatest live bands in rock history. They didn't chart well anymore, but they played out of their ****ing minds

I dunno if it was so much The Byrd's inspiring Dylan to give up acoustic as it was their recording of 'you aint going nowhere' making acoustic music obsolete in a sense

I always heard that their version of Mr. Tambourine Man is what rocked Dylan's world.
