Did Worley turn the Corner

He didn't play scared for once. He took his hits like a man and kept this team in the game for 4 quarters. Hell yes, he turned the corner.

I completely back Worley after today. He is getting better every week.

He is. He can become a very good QB. I don't think it is necessary to qualify that anymore. When he steps into his throws like he did today, no one in the SEC has any more zip than he does.

He made good decisions. He made big plays when they were needed.

And now... I'll really tick some of these guys off. When UT needed him to lead drives to win the game... he did. He didn't choke or get a bad attitude or quit like Bray did so frequently during his career. Last year Bray had 3 chances to get a win vs UGA with ZR, JH, and CP playing receiver for him and didn't get it done. JW engineered 3 drives to tie and then go ahead of UGA in the 2nd half.

Like Crompton turned the corner in the UGA game, I hope so for Worley, too. I never could undestand how he was so prolific in HS, and yet largely a flop, thus far. I watched that game (on ESPN), where his HS team beat Clowney's team, and he looked like a gamer.

When he steps into his throws, he seems to hit his target a lot more than when he throws flat-footed or off his back foot.

Kid showed tons of confidence today. Just wish he would keep the ball a few more times on the zone read and get an easy 6-7 yards

Back foot throws have really been his biggest issue. He looked good today with that. He also has good zip on the ball.

They seemed to open up the playcalling in the second half too. I understand why they were playing more conservative in the first half. But still you have to wonder if they had gone into the game with the confidence they left it with... could the first half have been different too?

He's gaining confidence in himself and the receivers. They're gaining confidence in him. And the coaches are probably gaining confidence in both.

He turned the corner ONCE--got ten yards on the play. Needs more corner-turning.

There it is....my thoughts exactly, he had some open field if he took it. Maybe the film study will show he can take 5-6 carries per game.

The one thing that Worley really improved on today was not letting the negative plays have a snowball affect as in games past. When Worley plays with confidence he is an adequate QB but in past games when something negative happened it seemed he lost that confidence and the negative plays just snowballed, he really stepped up today.

Worley struggled a bit early, but ultimately played a complete game today. He stepped up big today.

Bajakian opened up the playbook a bit more today too and that helped us. Worley was a field general today and was able to line up the offense and execute when we needed him.

Worley took charge of the Offense as the game went. He stopped playing scared that was the biggest thing I saw out of him.

It looked like he became a Leader tonight.

Considering the way that Justin had struggled at quarterback previously, here is a question to ponder: Can you objectively say that the vaunted Aaron Murray, with all of his experience, senior leadership, career records and supporting cast significantly outplayed Justin Worley? Yes, Murray completed three touchdown passes and had the one big run but I would argue that, by any other statistical criteria, the answer is no. And that is a rather remarkable conclusion, considering Justin's relative inexperience as a starting quarterback and that of his receivers.

I was impressed with his footwork in the pocket. I don't remember a single time he threw off his back foot. But definitely proud of him really. He needed this

My only hope is that he will learn to keep the ball more on the read option. Yes he is.slow but at least four times tonight he could have gotten 5 to 8 yards had he kept it. Also this will free up the run game and play action more. He was actually on target for.most of the second half. Now he just needs to put a complete game together vs USCe in two weeks, if he does that we win.

The 4th and 1 play action pass showed me a lot. The coaches put the team on his shoulders with that call. He played with confidence in the 2nd half.

By far his best game as a Vol.

Yes! He played with guts, took some hits, didn't get down regardless of the 1st half score or the opening possession of the 2nd half. Our WRs had the games we'd wanted them to have much earlier. And Worley Bird got aggressive. Confidence all around is growing and so is the experience.

SWAG, is what he and everyone else on the offense needed. As long as they don't get down on themselves, we're in much better shape all over the field than I could've dreamt of going into it.

If they could see what we saw there'd be no doubt about how much they brought it.

When that ball went in the air I was very confident it was going to be a completion. It's been so long since I've felt that way and it happened totally subconsciously. What a great feeling, thinking we're actually going to score when we have the ball! Today was a rollercoaster but definitely the most excited I've been about Tennessee Football in a while. I really think that Worley and Tennessee turned a corner in the second half.

If he keeps improving this season and with all the guys that are coming back. minus the O line. Tennessee could be an SEC East favorite next year.

Did Worley finally turn the Corner today? I know he will never be All SEC or anything but during the Second half today he really seemed to come into his own. He set his feet and Stood Tall in the Pocket.

Most impressive was his Intensity. He finally looked like his was leading the Offense out there.Really proud of the Kid today.

Yes, he, along with the entire team turned the corner.

I don't know if he turned the corner or not. I think the play calling and mixing up the plays in the second half benefited him a whole lot.
