Die on the Chick-Fil-A Hill?

(d)iversity is an incredibly powerful tool.
(D)iversity is an absolute corporate sham.

One is about divergent thought bringing about better products and services.
The other is about ensuring the corporate photo looks inclusive.

Indeed. Seems to be a theme here with “Diversity”.3A8CA3FC-6D59-4F54-ABB0-7E5FAC8C0F20.png

You can have black & white & brown, male & female & other, gay and straight - all represented on your Board.

It will look great. (D)iversity.

If they all went to the same schools, hold the same beliefs, and all think the same way? You have zero actual, beneficial (d)iversity.

And why do young people expect DEI programs? They’ve been conditioned.

For the most part it’s window dressing and virtue signaling. If some of these people that weigh a company’s DEI department into a decision on accepting employment none of them would work for most tech or clothing brands.

Yep.

I am stunned that white males aren’t diverse. I hardly ever see them agreeing on this board.

You could put together a board of nothing but straight, brown, Hispanic women - pulled from different backgrounds from around the country.

They would be as different as the day is long, and wouldn’t agree on a single damn thing.

Yea I had the same thought. Grab Lebron’s son, a 17 year old black male from a Detroit ghetto and a 17 year old black male from Nairobi. Nothing alike.

Only thing I know about DEI is the experience I've seen first-hand over the last 15 years in the public sector. It has been and continues to be a massive failure in the 2 municipalities I've worked for in that time. It's only been about checking boxes and appeasing certain people, nothing to do with education or experience. Majority of folks I've worked with don't give a damn about your color, gender, etc. They just want the best people to work with and to be able to do their job and go home. In the public field you already have to deal with a lot of politics and bureaucracy crap and all DEI has done is add something else to the pile of crap that has nothing to do with your actual job. Little tidbit for us older Vol bball fans - Former vandy player Shan Foster owns a company that pushes DEI in the govt sector.

Applicants seeking to join RAF described as 'useless white male pilots' in bid to hit 'impossible' diversity targets

This is what it’s all about -
The message, dated 19 November 2020 under the subject: "BAME_INFLOW_EXPEDITE", read: "Can you confirm the fitness test question is being asked and pursued, because there are potentially some quick wins here which will make us all look better?"

The “fitness question” was fast tracking minority candidates without passing the fitness test.

Nope. No lowering of standards to hit photo op goals here!

Awfully ballsy for a country that hasn’t won a war on its own (Argentina doesn’t count) in about 140 years.
Not defending the Brits ridiculous DEI nonsense here - but why wouldn’t they get credit for the Falklands?

That was a real battle, against a capable opponent, far far away from home. It was a deadly contest.

Not exactly Grenada…

1st modern naval clash. Although a much smaller scale, Makes you realize what a naval war with China would look like,,ie island far away in close proximity to mainland.

And it could have gone even worse for the UK. Argentina was getting thru to their ships.

Our military is no different. We’ve had double standards and have lowered standards to enable females in combat roles.
I’m fine with women in combat - if they can meet the standards.

But yea, we lowered standards in the US military too.

While I'm no fan of women in direct combat roles I can accept it if they can meet the standards however the standards are way too low.

They need to be able to meet the standards. The unadjusted standards.

And they need to be fully aware of the risks before stepping out there. No special considerations either.

Agreed. Thankfully outside of a couple schools I never had to deal with females and in those few instances where I did they were absolutely coddled.

The (in my opinion) faux outrage over it was pretty eye-rolling too. I mean, the place is closed on Sunday. Is it any surprise they'd have a conservative view of marriage? That particular time it caused a stir wasn't even the first time Chick-fil-A had said something about gay marriage anyway. Why that particular instance caused such commotion is a mystery to me.
People took the normal viewpoint on marriage as some sort of anti gay agenda..like chik fil a was gonna not serve the gays and the trannies..victim culture at its..worst.

The gays should open their own food franchises and clothing stores. Surprised they haven't gotten that ball rolling yet to be honest. It's almost like they just want everyone else to bend to their will...

My favorite was when they went after chik fil a for supporting the Boy Scouts and Salvation Army
