This topic is a slippery slope to nowhere good. History tells us that we will lose a recruit or two before NSD for whatever reason it just won't work out. Likewise, we'll probably pick up a player from another school who changes his mind about the school he's currently committed to. IMO, no good can come from speculating and naming names. If a player is being recruited by UT then he is one of the best players in the country, but in the end it has to be a good fit for both the player and the school.

Recruiting has changed a lot. Coaches are taking kids sooner. Classes are filling up faster. I agree that in the past just assuming that 5-7 kids who were committed would not end up part of the class. With times changing, maybe that changes as well. Maybe coaches are doing a little more research. Maybe coaches won't take as much risk now on a borderline kid grade wise. Maybe coaches won't take "insurance" commitments hoping to drop them and land better kids closer to NSD. Times can and do change. If CBJ added 3 more commitments to the current class and signed them all, would not bother me one bit, as long as he can still be under the 85 come Aug 2015. Still would have to see at least 7 current Vols who are not SRs decide to leave the program to sign 24.

For some reason Nationdumb has a vendetta against Rocky Reid. I hope Rocky comes to UT and goes all Italian Stallion on the field so I can bring it up every day.

Disrespectful to discuss committed players and say they may or may not be a part of the team. There will be some losses due to academics, due to them looking elsewhere, due to us upgrading the position but those discussions are best left unsaid.

Aside from being the worst topic that I can remember in a while - Butch Jones and this staff have had a history of A. losing much of anybody B. getting every commit in school -34 out of 34 last year or something ridiculous like that.

So I am focusing my attention on who's next to commit.

I'm not worried personally about whether or not it's disrespectful. I'm worried about the commit or potential commit that comes here to see what the rabid, vocal fans are saying about them. You guys just need to be aware of that any time you are talking about a 17 year old kid on the internet.
