People said if scroggins made his commitment early, then it would probably be a double committment featuring dion bailey. If dion bailey decided to announce now instead of waiting to hear about scroggins, what does this say about our chances of still winning scroggins from usc. it looks as if our chances are getting worse. i was really hoping we would get dion(one of my favorite prospects in this class). what do you guys think will happen with scroggins. any thoughts or encouraging news is appreciated.

His heart probably says USC, but his mind is saying UT. He's going to have decide which one to listen to, and probably doesn't know the answer that, himself, at this point.

Bailey knows exactly where Scroggins is going. They each want their own announcement, their respective moments in the Southern California sun.

"USC is one of the top academic schools in the nation," said Harold. "Living in Southern California; or wanting to live in Southern California in the future, a degree from USC carries more weight than Tennessee, North Carolina or wherever else you may go. I'm all about the education." Dion Bailey's dad

That seems to be the most common story arc for these recruits. They look at several schools and play each one up. Then they stay just quiet enough to get all of the various schools fanbases to believe. Then they simply go with the most obvious solution.

Of course there are notable exceptions, but Occam's Razor wins most of the time...

He's not going to be a Vol guys. Just let it go! We're going to have to wait and see how the senior qb's shake out in 09. Hopefully there will be one who has a break out year and we can snatch him up. But for now we'll just have to continue to play the waiting game.

Some people just have no faith lol

& both are equally as bad. People who post 'guys he is not coming' are just as bad as the people who post 'he is all Vol'.

Plus, people were saying the same kind of thing when BB was playing this game and then we're all about it when he signed with us. Give the kid time and let him think it over, it is his choice to do that.

No visit, no Scroggins.

Good summary.

How's the Repeal the 16th working? It'd be nice if you could get that done before next April, but I understand if football season is the delay.

Nobody has a freakin' clue what Scroggins will do. we can try to read his mind all day. I won't be one bit surprised when he chooses UT or USC. I will be surprised if he picks UF. If the BB saga told me anything...it's that you just never know...

Different situation entirely. For one, the only school we were battling to get BB from was Oregon. I felt that our chances were pretty good competing with them. Here we are competing with the top 2 most successful programs in college. Plus I thought the fact that BB delayed his decision apart from signing day was to the Vol's favor.

It took old fat Charlie 2 years with BQ and 2 BCS bowls to finally get a high profile QB at Notre Shame. We all need to be patient, we will get our next superstar QB.

wtf, that is some ** right there. my degree will be a damn good degree. one which will allow me to live where ever i so choose. i'm sick of everyone putting down UT's academics. not all the programs available at UT are low ranking. some of the programs are top notch.:realmad:

and UNC is a damn good school too. it's not like usc is an ivy league school or anything like that.

anyways most athletes take ** courses and major in simple degrees anyway. no offense, that is just the way it is.

haha quit being so soft-spoken. how do you really feel?

i think that in terms of offense prospects, the rest of this class relys on whether we get scroggins or not. other prospects will flow if we get him. even if we get a different qb that is good it wont have the impact that scroggins would. other prospects dont pay that close attention, they just want to know if we are bringing in a well known top flight guy.
