DL Jordan Phillips Enters Transfer Portal

So judging by your original post I assume you are against us taking the transfers who have committed to us. Because they’re quitting on their original school of choice?
Never said that. Again generalize much? You're extrapolating a lot out of my post. Where they transfer too or from is not the point but keep trying.

For most players, college is the only window to keep playing that they'll have. If they're not gonna get reps at one place, why not go where they can? MOST players aren't going pro. Is it worth your time to sit behind people, work your butt off, and not play because they're better? If you were in a job with no possibility of promotion, do you just grind it out? Hell no. You go where the opportunity is. The vast majority of players know that these 5 years (with RS) is all they're gonna get. And for us, that's a good thing. We don't get better if bodies who won't ever play are taking up a spot.

Your response only supports what I stated. That is Be thoughtful on any decision of this type.

Without knowing the full circumstances why somebody entered the portal it's crazy to call this guy a quitter. Or really anyone that enters the portal. Did he voluntarily do it or was he pushed to do it? Doesn't matter either way. The risk for him now is to end up with no scholarship. It's kind of like quitting your old job for a new one without having the new one nailed down and already in the bag.

These kids today sure have a lot of quit in them. The ole excuse "they have to do what's best for themselves" is an excuse to quit but pretend it's a "business" decision. Quit when it doesn't go your way is a bad way to go thru life.

Is Hendon Hooker a quitter? Josh Heupel left UCF to come here. Is he a quitter too?

I assume you've never left a job for a better opportunity either?

Its more of a business now than ever before. Transfers and opt outs are the new norm.

Constantly have to put up with DA replies. Heupel had a job offer. Hitting the portal doesn't insure you anything. Hooker had already proven himself and looked for another opportunity. Apples to oranges but here we are.

The only DA reply is calling a 19 year old kid a quitter for making a decision that's best for him.

They aren't apples to oranges. It doesn't matter if you have a job offer or not. They each left their previous teams because they thought there was something better out there for them. If you aren't happy somewhere, there's nothing wrong with moving on to somewhere else.
