Do it now!!!! I was watching a video of the scrimmage and saw yet another of our players run right up into that darn wall at the endzone. Actually, it was two players one offense, the other a defending player. That thing has taken out players in the past and will again unless neutralized. Pad the entire thing during practices and games. Take it down and install a self-sealing gel wall. Call NorthFace, Summit Hut, or REI. Have them build a baffled canvas wall filled with eider duck down or thinsulate fibers. Use foot thick bubble wrap if you have to, just do something. Just do something!

The one opposite the jumbotron. I seem to recall at least two players that got hurt as a result. One might have been D. Moore. Yesterday's scrimmage I will have tolook again to see who the two players that ended up there. They didn't slam into it partly because the play was ending with a catch and the DB basically just holding the receiver by the time they stopped. I hate that freaking wall.

Agreed! From Joey Clinkscales to Cedrick Wilson to Dennarius Moore & others we've had too many Vols sacrifice their bodies against those bricks.

It is such a poor design and it is definitely dangerous. Someone will end up seriously injured by it someday.

Wow - so they are DA's for giving their all to make a play for TN today? I hope that was sarcasm.

Even NASCAR understood that if your stars go down to injury, or death if you hit the wall the wrong, you lose support for the product. So they changed the walls and the cars. The UTAD does not even realize that apparently. Good post, OP. Been thinking the same thing for years. I cringe and pray every time a player on either team hits or comes close to those walls.

This is an issue in most college football stadiums. There needs to be a rule from the end of the endzone to the wall. You don't have to be stupid to hit it either.

Running into a brick wall never hurt anyone. This is football! Get, rub some dirt on it, walk it off!

I would like to see a Pareto analysis of injuries at Neyland to see if there are more injuries due to the walls compared to other injuries. I suspect that there are many more injuries that occur between the sidelines than in the end zones.

While I agree with you, pretty sure you are talking to the wrong people. I dont think freak makes enough money from this site to do Stadium renovations. I could be wrong, just seems to me we should be talking to the University about this :p

I hope words leaks to the proper people as they practically never answer their email so i assume they don't read it.

a player is going to stumble out of control one day and break his neck, forever scarring Neyland and making it no better than the pos Atlantadome that has a 2 foot railing on the top level and is shocked that people fall over.
