i was thinking they were made to look like the brick and wasn't part of the problem,that the end zone wasn't packed full of photographers ? they are a buffer of sorts

Looking again after seeing DeerPark's post, I do indeed see some brick colored padding. I also see that the entire wall isn't padded. Apparently and I'm justpresuming with the limited view the video gives, the naked wall is outside the endzone perimeter. But not by much it seems. I have at live games seen plays that slant players toward that uncovered area.
After seeing this, I must agree, the padding isn't thick enough. Also as you can more clearly, the padding doesn't cover the wall beyond the endzone perimeters. Players do get slanted into that area and can't stop before arriving to the unpadded wall.
