Do we go outside of the family?

It's simple, you go get the best damn coach you can UT ties or not. Bring this program back to it's rightful place and it will be a money maker and TBA will be packed like it used to be. There isn't a program, UConn included, that is as relevant as the Tennessee Lady Vols is women's bball. The issue is we have the female version of Butch Jones right now, talking out of her ass and zero clue how to coach. Get a competent coach in here and it'll be back on top quickly.

I never said we shouldn’t. However I also don’t believe in interviewing just to save face. Find the best basketball coach you can hire and pay him or her.

i`m just saying if the AD cans Holly and i hope they do keep the process fair in hiring a coach there are not that many African American head coaches in DI basketball and some have never even been looked at.

I would like to see an African American women or men get an interview for the coaching job if decision is made to fire Holly. I think there are a lot of good candidates out there that are coaching or assistant coaches qualify to be a head coach.

We don't need a token interview or hire. Ir is not black and white, it is Orange!

Yes, my perfect candidate is a wheelchair bound African American transgender Muslim female.

Or we could just hire the most qualified candidate for the position, but that would be crazy talk!

Has anyone thought about Kelly Harper? She has led three different programs to the NCAA tournament and is still in the tournament with a huge win over Depaul, which is more than can be said about Tennessee. It was done with one senior, one junior, and the rest freshman and sophomores. She was also named MVC coach of the year this year if I am not mistaken. She is WINNING and I don't know if she has one McDonald All American on her team, unlike Holly! Also being a part of that 3 consecutive national title team, she is well aware of what kind of work it takes to get there. I actually think she is far enough removed from the current "Pat crew" that is still at UT that it would not effect her. However, I could be wrong about that, but I hope not! Don't get me wrong I LOVED Coach Summitt, but even she would not tolerate where the program is today. Not for a second! I will be watching and pulling for Missouri State.......GO BEARS
She failed miserably at NC State.

Here’s the problem. I am not in the mood for “up and comers” or assistants. This program should be able to get a proven Power 5 candidate. Unfortunately the only candidate even remotely qualified for an interview would be Quentin Hillsman at Syracuse. I’m not sure he’d be comfortable here—he’s more of a northern guy. Of course Dawn Staley is qualified but she’s not coming here. African American candidates need better access to power 5 jobs to build the profiles to take a job like Tennessee.

Holly was given a shot and she failed and as i said before no one is saying they must hire an African American. I just think they should be included in the coaching candidate search that`s my opinion. Niele Ivey would be a very good candidate so would kyra elzy. There are many School that will not even look at hiring an African American.

That may be so, but Tennessee also had at least two black men's basketball coaches since the 90s, and two of the current assistants in the women's team are black. So...not a problem for Tennessee. I reiterate my previous statement - hire the best candidate available, and I think Ivey, Elzy...and I'll throw in Hammond and Ralph...are not the answer. They need someone with experience successfully running a program.

So why not include in the process ? And there are a lot of African American available candidates on that so call list of best available candidates.
I don’t care what color or gender the next coach is, we just need someone to put this program back on track and to gracefully put Holly out to pasture.

We have to look at which coach is the best fit for the program...great coacher, teacher & recruiter...LVs deserves the best...if it is outside of the family, so be it...immediate success is non-optional...🤙🧡🏀

The next head coach will have to do a bit of rebuilding because the player talent and the program as a whole has eroded.

Serious question and not trying to argue: Do you think they won’t be? I see no reason why they won’t be, nor do I have reason to think they won’t be.

Do you not think that that African-American coach would want to be chosen for an interview because of their coaching ability and record? Stop with the race-baiting please.

If i was race-baiting you would know trust me ! i don`t do that so back off i`m just voicing my opinion how i would like to see the coaching process for everyone seeking a head coaching job.
