Which you see primarily (as in 90 % fault) caused by Democrats and, at this point in time, all linked to Obama.

Correct?

Dude has been posting as long as you have. You should know by now. Bet if he said Fox three times you'd know his name and every written word of his by tomorrow.

Seeing as how it was the Dems in Congress and Obama who are pushing for a wider ranging census to count dogs, gerbils, pet turtles, etc. you could say that the already bloated program was fattened up even more with inefficiencies, etc. Notice that expensive an sorry excuse of a census ad last night that never said anything of meaning? Can't blame Bush for that nonsense.

Correct?

The spending when Bush was in office, was horrible. They can't point the finger at the democrats on this issue. Though hypocritically they do.

I find little to like about either party, most of the time. I'm just amazed at the support the Republicans gets. They are just as bad as the democratic party, on many issues, most notably spending.

Constitutionally mandated if memory serves me correctly. Plus it is how we apportion members of Congress and all sorts of federal funds. There are pros and cons to both sides of the debate.

The number of people are to be counted, correct? Does the Constitution take it any further than that?

I'm pretty sure the Constitution does specify:

how much your mortgage/rent is
debt levels
how long your commute is

etc.

Good enough. As unbelievable as it may be, mine will all be zero as they were the last time I got one of these. Rather odd I guess.

And they are proof of the migration taking place from the utopian blue state workers' paradise of the northeast to the evil, Bible belt, fascist red states in the south.

I will more than likely be one that is moving from the Utopian blue state worker' paradise of the northeast to the union stronghold that is Michigan. I swear, I will be the only one.

I hear you. I haven't fully committed to it yet, but it will most likely go down that way. It will put us relatively close to the wife's family, but....it's Michigan.

Other possibilities were/are Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Virginia is still in play, though I've shut down most of my conversations that could lead me there.

I really like Michigan, as a place. Just the whole economic aspect is screwy.

The town I'm looking at has been doing OK through Michigan's downturn, but I worry about what the state tax situation is going to look like.

I think it's fairly stable outside of Flint and Detroit. The UP is a historically poor area, though more from geography than politics.

I have never been so glad to be out of that state. Been here in CO for almost 5 years now and would never willingly move back there.

What part of MI are you looking at TT?

No. The Constitution does not specify quite a few processes such as how we conduct our elections either. Keep in mind that the census went well beyond this definition the very first time it was done. And in subsequent census runs things were added or changed. The first one asked your age ranges. In 1850 the asked how much your real and personal property worth was as well as listing out each household member. Etc, etc.

You are making an effort to save them from losing a Congressman....brave soul. We need more union representation in DC. Oh wait...

Probably a lot of good places to ski in Michigan and Canada. That's the only positives that come to mind.

Michigan is flat as can be ... I think their are some sledding slopes somewhere up north....and some small ski hills. I'm certainly leaving better skiing here - but I don't really care that much about skiing, so no big loss.
