Why aren't they ranked higher than 6?
Simple. Because they lost one game. To UConn, I might add.
And now you will see why Tennessee is no longer ranked in the top-5.
I love my LV's but I see many fans here living in the past, when UT was where UConn is now. It was only five or six years ago that UConn was Tennessee's only challenger; the thought of Duke, Baylor, Maryland, Stanford, Notre Dame, or Kentucky putting up much of a fight was unthinkable. But parity is coming to the lady's game very quickly. UT is elite, but not in a league of its own anymore and where we used to laugh at the competition we now squirm uncomfortably and post dire predictions of tight games and potential losses. When Pat Summitt could no longer coach, that truly was the end of an era. It usually takes dynasties decades to recover from the loss of such a coach, in any sport. College football is filled with such examples.
