Do you think a healthy Ainge & Coker defeats LSU & Arkansas?

I tend to think they would have. They made Vandy look like a junior college today.

it makes me happy to think we could and sad to know we will never know

I think against LSU, maybe. Crompton played well, but if I remember right he either didn't complete 50% of his passes or barely did. Kind of hard to sustain drives like that.

Against, Arkansas, no.

Had Crompton not been able to scramble out of trouble, LSU would have killed us. I'm not sure Ainge would have been able to avoid being sacked many, many times. Coker wouldn't have helped all that much against Arkansas, because we needed score quickly and often to keep up with the Hogs.

The question was about a healthy Ainge.

I think he possibly could've put more points on the board against LSU. however, as bad as our D played (don't give me the 3 ints) dunno that LSU wouldn't have just put more points as well. Joe Montana wouldn't have helped us against Arkansas

Crompton couldn't make the quick reads that Ainge could have. UT almost won despite that.

Although I think LSU is much better physically than UT, they're a train wreck of dysfunction.

Unless
Ainge and Coler could suit up and tackle #5 no way they beat Arkansas.

It was brutal sitting in the stands watching that game.

Arkansas lined Mcfadden up as the QB 13 times, and they averaged 9 yards a play

He won't run away from them, no, but he's better at evading pressure than a lot of peole give him credit for.

The word pressure is inadquate for describing LSU's pass rush. I don't have a thesaurus handy, but it was something much worse than pressure. I don't think Ainge could have dealt with it any better than Crompton.

I think a healthy Ainge and Coker would have made a big difference in both games. Wish Coker was used during the UF game, just a few positive yards rushing would have made a difference. But yes, we would have beaten LSU I think, BUT, Ark would have beat us......that game was all on the coaches and lack of preparation, period.

Crompton would have been dealing with it fine if he knew the offense as well as Ainge did and could deliver the ball as well.

He delivered the ball decently enough. Our wide receivers didn't play that great of a game. Also, Ainge didn't have that great of a delivery when he was running for his life. Check the Florida game. LSU would have been a repeat.

The two long throws Crompton made against LSU were both better than any deep balls tossed by Ainge all season. Tennessee wasn't going to score against LSU throwing the ball horizontally.

That frustrated me more than anything else against Arkansas. This is verticle offense. Call the game accordingly.
