Yeah.
Even though I'm rooting against it...
It's hard to punish them because they play in same division as the only undefeated team in the country. They lost by 3 in overtime. If they played in any other conference, they'd probably be undefeated. Unless they played LSU OOC. In which case they'd probably have 1 loss and win their conference.
It's fair, Ok State does not play a conference championship game either.
The solution would be to have the best two SEC teams play in the conference championship game or look what happen to the PAC-12.
Bama might get to play for title game, and they didnt even goto the sec championship game?
No. A team that cannot win its own conference should not be the national champion. They probably are the second best team, but they lost to LSU when they played them. I look at it as a first round playoff game and they lost. I really have no interest in watching Alabama get beat again by LSU. If I was voting (assuming OSU beats Oklahoma), I would vote OSU number 2.

So if Oregon finished with one loss and won the Pac 12, they should be in the championship? They would have had the best resume and won their conference if there only loss came to LSU. Why should they get a pass just for losing to LSU OOC?
Or would you skip over them too for Oklahoma State who lost to Iowa State?
