Doak Walker…Sampson Not a Finalist

He’s having one of the best seasons in recent memory for an SEC running back. They would be all over him if he played for Bama or Georgia. This is indeed shameful. Biased media is biased.
His yardage isn’t going to be up there with most winners at the conclusion of the regular season and conference championship. Jeanty is running away the award.

Jeanty is a great player, no disrespect but D Samp would have his stats with that schedule too. Reality.

If Tennessee played Boise's schedule this year, Sampson would have 2000+ and 20 touchdowns and it wouldn't even be close.

Utah State, Portland State, UNLV, San Diego State, Washington State, Nevada, Wyoming, Hawaii, Georgia Southern. Yes, they played Oregon, but otherwise ... c'mon. C'mon now. Don't tell me Sampson wouldn't be good for 2-3 TDs and 150-200 yards a game against those sorts of teams.

💯

The love Jeanty is getting is way too much imo.

As idiotic is is that Sampson is not a Doak Walker finalist, there was a far greater snub today. Travis Hunter was not named a finalist for the Jim Thorpe award. Deion was not pleased. He says Hunter can have his Jim Thorpe award and goes on a tirade about the integrity of the award being lost.

FYP...

Sampson is having a really good season for an SEC running back. hed need almost 1700 yards to get in top 10. There have been 15 guys in the 2000's alone that have rushed for over 1500 in season in the SEC. Touchdowns he is currently tied for 5th. He'd need 5 more to take over 2nd place and 7 to take first. Unless we make a deep run in playoffs that's not likely. He is currently 7th in the nation in rushing yards.

As far as the 3 guys picked over him Jeanty and Johnson are no brainers. If you just look at Yardage and TD's you'd think Hampton makes no sense until you notice he has 34 catches, 1 fumble on the year. I'd still pick Sampson over him they have to be knocking him for the 3 game fumble streak. But its all moot.. no one is winning over Jeanty and Kaleb Johnson has more yards on less carries and 1 less TD 0 fumbles. Trust me Johnson and Jeanty were running against stacked boxes all year. Iowa has passed for less yards and TD's as a team than their single rb has rushed. Hate Boise States schedule all you want but 700 yards and 5td's is huge, that's the difference between Jeanty and Sampson. Most years 700 yards and 5 td's is our starting RB's stats. And Jeanty does not play in the second half about 25% of the time.
