Dobbs' little jump pass

Jump pass ? Didn't see it. Only real comment is - When Tebow does it, it's stupid and clumsy, but when we do it it's a beautiful play. Alas this is where we find ourselves...Nice little offense we have now in Knoxville, The Power Spread... Gimme a freakin break.

While certainly being skeptical is understandable in light that he was one of the most popular Florida QBs ever and what has become acceptable, but there has been nothing in his personality, work ethic, or behavior that has shown that he is a liar or to assume that he is lying. I am one, while admitting that there is always the possibility that I am wrong, to believe he was and is truthful. And I'm speaking because of experience. I waited until marriage, and it wasn't that I couldn't get a girl, it was part of my convictions and dedication to them. It wasn't easy but totally worth it. I am now happily married going on our 5th year of marriage (we dated/engaged for 5 1/2 years). You can say a lot about Tebow, but one thing no one has ever doubted about him was his dedication, work ethic, and convictions. To assume he lied about it means the weight of proof is on you. I just think some girl would have come forward by now.

AshleyMadison Offers $1 Million To Prove Tim Tebow Is NOT A Virgin

still nothing…

Back to Volunteer football: "how 'bout them vols?"

I didn't wait for my marriage bed to have sex. I became a Christian later. I really wish I had waited, especially since my wife had waited.

As far as everybody hating Tebow, Jesus said, "...you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake" (Mt 24:9). Let the "Keep the faith stuff off our sports page" bashing begin.

He was a GREAT college QB and even a better human being. Never understood the hate for the kid other than the fact that whipped everybody's arse on the football field.

Pure jealousy, KBVOL. I respect him for keeping his organic screwdriver locked up behind his pants zipper. As opposed to making a baby out of wedlock and before he had a means to support it. I also respect him for having sense to keep his distance from that spoiled bottle of man poison called Taylor Swift. I didn't like him beating my Vols but no questioning his status as a college QB, lousy throwing technique and all. Boy knew how to win.

I actually think with the right team, he could be a fair to decent QB yet. As for Dobbs, he may be our best option if that OL is as porous as it seems it might be. We need a QB who runs well and can complete passes. Including jump passes when necessary. Gotta say, though, Worley looked very different than last year. if he can run without fear as well, go for it. Don't know if he can jump pass. :)

I completely understand! We fall short in different ways. And I'm sure if you talked to Tebow he would be the first one to tell you his faults, as would I. People think that in order to become a Christian, you must first become holy and suddenly you are this hypercritical person, etc. But I rather like to think of us as recovering addicts. When you accept Jesus its like you have finally made a commitment in a AA meeting and you now have the will power to actually change, this doesn't mean you're immediately cured of all addiction but your nature has been changed enough in order that you may have a desire for better life- and with that realization there is freedom. In fact those who are the best Christians were the ones who struggled the most. The first step to becoming a Christian, much like AA or any other drug rehab, is the admission of being a sinner, admission that you have a problem, only then can change be effective, and you have to be honest with yourself always. Those who act like they don't have a problem, non-Christians and those who claim to be "Christians" alike, actually have the biggest problem of all.

This is kind of like talking about politics or hot button issues, your always aware that it may offend someone. So I apologize to anyone who may feel offended by this sudden shift into religious discussion, I only brought it up because of the Tebow comment- sometimes I think it is appropriate to talk about religious stuff or social things when it really does correlate with actual athletes or issues. For example paying players is a social issue as well as a football related one. Recent reports of gay football players coming out in the media relates to social and political issues that are currently a hot topics. Or sexual accusation against players often touch (no pun intended) on sexism/women's issues, social norms and biases. Also when players profess faiths, albeit it be Christian, Muslim or whatever and is criticized for certain beliefs by fans of the sport or media personalities this is as much a religious conversation as it is a sport conversation (I'm think of Ray Lewis charismatic praise of God- who helped him win the Super Bowl- lol).

What is telling though is can we have a conversation that is not only respectful but also stays on topic- one that doesn't resort to either bashing religion or bible(/or any other book that is deemed holy by any religion) thumping. Too often these topics resort to those kind of things so we tend to try and avoid them as much as possible. So maybe not. I think this is why moderators often dichotomize sports from politics or sports from religion, even though they can be extremely related. In order to keep the peace sometimes one must avoid certain conversations. Hopefully we haven't blended the divide too much here.

So carry on Volnation, carry on...
