.... that Beck's rally this morning is not political? The headline speakers are he and Sarah Palin.

Beck has a lot of similarity to another charismatic speaker from the 1930s. Big rallies. Convinced people all their problems were caused by some other defined groups. Claimed to be channeling a greater power.

The man is dangerous.

I understand that a lot of people are willing, and indeed want, to excuse away a lot of what he does simply as entertainment that antagonizes.

But I personally think he has gone well past that point. Now, there is no way that he can rise to power like Hitler did. The world is too savvy a place for that, now. But he can sure do some damage to race relations, religious tolerance, education reform, etc.

I think what the real threat is here is that he is making it okay again to hate. It is almost in vogue. For a long time this underbelly of our country had lost its way, it had become disorganized. It wasn't okay at parties to blame blacks or religions for our problems.

Beck is a rallying point for people who feel that way and he has allowed them to come back out of hiding.

Its not his fault, really. I mean, times are tough and everyone needs someone to blame. Having Obama as the foil to work against, the black president who can serve as the presentation piece to blame everything on lazy black people on welfare, may just work out for Beck and the GOP after all.

Like I said, Beck has made it okay to say that out loud again.

When was it never NOT okay? Ideologically speaking, we've always been a fairly divided country. When you have so many people disagreeing with each other, PC kind of gets flushed down the toilet.

Obama is more similar to Hitler than Glen Beck.

Good thing that Obama doesn't politicize anything. He is much further to the left than the independents who voted for him imagined.

That same savvy you describe is exactly why the democrats are in trouble. For the majority it has nothing to do with race, and much more to do with the fact that tax and spend is simply no way to run a country.

But it is so much easier to flash the race card.

Yep. Beck is a straight up loon, but unless he is a die hard liberal, he doesn't pretend to be something he is not. There are few politicians that could run on a platform based on what Obama and Pelosi have rammed through congress in just a few years. A President certainly couldn't do it.

The press in Obama's pocket is much more dangerous to this nation.

God you're right! He's only got white males speaking at his event. I'm no fan of his but come on bro. You could pretty much make your argument for anyone.

Dr. King's niece disagrees with you. It's hard to believe she's going to be speaking at such a racist and political event. I wonder what her reasons will be to blame the black president or black people?

Pathetic try with the race card lg. But, what else should we expect from the left-wing, tree hugging, liberals?

I watched most of it on C-span, there was not one thing said to lead racial division.

It only scares those that really don't want harmony among the people of this nation. Those that want to keep America divided for other purposes.

I can't wait to see how the liberal media trys to turn this into something that it was not.

...that lawgator is a moderate?

On this subject I confess I am not a moderate. The man is appealing to, if not the worst in American society, close to it. He has tapped into an enormous sea of fear at change, at diversity, at loss of control.

Just something about wanting to stick to that document called the constitution and not continuing headlong into socialism that really bugs you! I bet it really hurt seeing "Worst in American Society" singing 'Amazing Grace'! How about those that prayed and those that thanked Almighty God! I guess its those people that are out of control! They showed pictures of the crowd, there appeared to be people of different races there, I'd call that diverse. 240 ministers got onto the stage, there were Muslims there. I'd be willing to bet that MSNBC will never mention that.
