Not in my opinion... he's not quick enough to cover slor WRs.

I agree with you, but why are bigger DBs like Justin Coleman and Elliot Berry practicing at nickel corner? You would think that size would be better utilized against large perimeter receivers (like Marquez North or Josh Malone) than on slot receivers who tend to be smaller and quicker (e.g., Pig Howard, Vic Wharton).

Are nickel corners expected to provide more run support than perimeter corners? I'm genuinely curious.

Yes, by replacing a linebacker with a cornerback, the defensive coordinator is gambling that there will be a pass. If it's a run, the NB has to assume the same run stopping responsibilities as the LB he's replacing.
