Does CCM get an excuse for next year?

Next year was suppose to be "make or break" for CCM. But without a PG, does CCM get an excuse now? I don't think we are tourney team now, especially with the lack of depth.

No, however losing Golden won't stop them from making the tourney. While it hurts his play was highly inconsistent and his defense often was a liability. With a true pg they could have made a run.

When Golden played badly, we were nearly assured of losing. And, we were not good in the games he missed, like that ugly home blowout loss to UGA. We don't have an experienced true PG to replace him. So, until the team proves otherwise, I don't see how we can be expected to be better without him. If someone seizes the opportunity and plays well at PG, I'll change my opinion.

And we have one now that Golden is gone? No, he was far and away our best option.

Absolutely not, love CCM but the Golden situation didn't help his cause. It's tournament or bust.

Martin did better than expected his first year.

His team underachieved last year.

This year Martin needs to make the NCAA tourney or he is probably gone.

I agree that he needs to win next year, but he isn't close to Dooley. Dooley squandered great talent and couldn't win a big game. I think Martin has beaten at least 5 top 25 teams.

No this is the best team he has had since he has been here and this is still a sweet 16 team no excuse to not win this year.

Nope but if he fails to make the tournament it's time to go. Love CCM but this is a tournament caliber team--as it was last year with Golden on it. He needs to make the tournament. Bottom line.

No this team needed a pg with Golden here so that's on CCM. Not too mention the talent at the other 4 spots on the floor should be able to cover up the pg spot atleast enough to get in the tournament. Its make or break for Martin next season.

Coach Martin have already said he don't make excuses so it will work itself out.Some people just want him gone

I agree next season will be year three. And he still has not got the point guard he has been needing since he arrived. And even without a true point guard which Trey was not this team is talented . With two front court players who could average 13 pts and 10 reb a piece and jordy who should score 17 or 18 pts a game. And Richardson and Moore and Edwards should average at least 15 combined pts a game and Hubbs and Davis should be able to score around 15 a game combined if not more and any other points by Reese and the rest of team. They should be able to average 70 plus and should have the best front court tandem in the SEC and Jordon should be a first team all SEC AND POY candidate and Hubbs should make the all freshmen team at the least. Surely one of the players on the team can dribble well enough to bring ball up the floor . And if the VOLS fail to make the NCAA tourney as much as I like CCM then it will be time to go another route. WE DO NOT NEED YEARS LIKE THE WADE HOUSTON AND KEVIN ONEIL EARS AT UT any more.
