I don't think so. After so much success it's hard to avoid complacency. It will take some strong team leadership to overcome this. Last year the leadership came from Nolan Smith, Chris Smith, and Bennett. They are all gone.
Kirby has to pull Saban-level coaching and recruiting jobs to keep this up. IMO, perhaps the most amazing thing about Saban over time has been how he's able to stave off the complacency you mentioned.

He has had lots of guys who might not end up really contributing until their third season, but have already won multiple SEC or even national titles as backups. When you're an 18 or 19-year-old, it has to be really easy to think you're hot s**t and just kind of coast at that point, but he keeps those kids hungry somehow.

Did the big tight end Bowers go pro? That guy was beast. True sophomore last season I think. I seem to remember discussion that he could apply and most likely get a waiver if he so desired.

It really depends on how good they are at QB. If they have a sufficient replacement for Bennett then they are the odds on favorite, because their defense, will be better than it was last year. I'm going to say no though, just because it's hard to repeat, and a three peat hasn't been done in modern times. I think they miss Stetson more than they think. He was always alot better than people gave him credit for.

He's done pretty well at avoiding complacency, they've finished in the Top 7 six years in a row.

Losing their OC could be a set back. He was the real deal. The biggest factor is their schedule. When you only have to get up for 2-4 games, it makes it much easier.

Bama beat them in '21.

It's very possible they run through the SEC but it'll be hard with the amount of stars they lost on offense and defense. They've recruited extraordinarily well but that's all banked on hoping those young players developed to take over the starting roles. Imo, they're more evenly matched with Bama this year.

The same thing has been said about Saban for years. There is no way he can be quite as good because of what Jenkins’s on both sides of the ball. Saban usually went out and won it all. Unfortunately for us, UGA is now in that level.

To anyone saying no, have you seen their schedule. Vols are the only team that can clip them in the regular season.

It's true and that's why I included that they may very well win it. But we don't know if Kirby will be a Saban in that aspect. I do think they will have anywhere between 1-3 losses.

I could see them losing a SC type game, and them being pissed off the rest of the year. Probably happens right before our game.

if it happens early enough they would still probably make the playoffs and have a good chance.

There is zero way Carolina beats them. Their offense is terrible unless they’re playing Tennessee.

Ohio St was oh so close to winning the natty last year you have to figure Ryan Day is going to get one very soon.

I know they’re going to reload, like UGA, but they’re losing a lot of talent. Stroud being the obvious loss. Ryan Day has lost a lot of big games recently. He really needs to win in Ann Arbor this year and Michigan will be preseason top 3 and possibly #1 in some publications. That seat might be getting pretty warm if they lose again. The John Cooper 2.0 comparisons will start come in.

I agree he needs to beat Michigan this year. Is Michigan supposed to be really good this year?
