Does Miami Have a Shot?

Miami ain't Hawaii, they've got the speed on defense to chase guys down after big gains before they become touchdowns. They've got alot of pride still and you can't dismiss the instate rivalry intangible. They wont win, but I think at one point the spread was24 which is too high and now the oddsmakers are realizing that.

Of course, I ALSO think Meyer intentionally didnt show alot in that Hawaii game. They just dumped the ball to their athletes last week but there really wasnt much trickery or gimmicks, and that may have been intentional with an eye on this week's preparation. So I suppose a blowout is possible, but they tend not to happen in the UF/FSU/UM showdowns

The only way UM has a chance is if Tom Brady is the QB. and Randy Moss is the WR :) Take UF guys.

I think Miami is a third tier program right now (just outside Top 25 strength), but rapidly on the rise. Their first string guys at several positions are competitive with anyone. But they have little depth and so I look for the game to be fairly close for a quarter or so, but then Florida simply to pull away.

If we can't beat them this time around, I honestly don't know when we ever will. It shouldn't, and in my head it doesn't, but Miami will always worry me in my gut.

Game will be close until the 3rd quarter when UF starts to pull away. UF will win by 17

Plus we have lost 6 straight to them. Payback for past losses.......

That's goofy. No one on the team now remembers the Florida-Miami games of the past, where they routinely out-thugged us and ran circles around our slow linemen.

Our fans over the age of 30, however, will not let the 'cane fans who might venture to Gainesville tomorrow night forget about the past, if we are fortunate enough to win.

It would have been nice to play them in the early to mid 90's while they were on probation..the OBC woulda RUTS a couple of those games.

Run
Up
The
Score

was used more back in the Spurrier days...course I'm seeing more and more accusing Meyer of it now as well.

I dont have a problem with any team running up the score. It's a game. One team is going to try and score as many times as possible and it is the job of the other team to stop them. Plain and Simple.

I agree..the only problem I have is like a fake punt or something late in the 4th..other than that..take your medicine.
