Does Sampson stay?

Don't know why he would leave. Good chance Wright leaves for the draft and Sampson becomes RB1 next season.

He's a good fit in this offense and a threat as a pass catcher --- which is very valuable for NFL teams.

Even if Wright comes back, I think he's got more to gain by staying than leaving. If he was 3rd or 4th on the depth chart, I could see him leaving, but not 1st or 2nd.

If Wright stays then it’s because he is thinking Championship or bust in 2024. By staying I think maybe that could lead Sampson to transfer. Honestly, who knows, I think Wright moves on. However, would love to see Wright stay another year. Small is gone for sure and if Wright does stay no one else other than Sampson has more carries to Wright. Sampson would still be a good #2 back.

In this day and age, RBs should try to have the path that Sampson has had here. Being the bell cow for three or four years before going pro is horrible for a rb. Injuries and wear and tear limit their NFL value. Unless they are a can’t miss monster, they are getting small rookie contracts and the ones that have already been heavily used never make it to the second contract. If Sampson blows up next year, he can go to the NFL, get through his rookie deal and have a chance at a better career.
Being the dude for 1 year is not frowned upon at all anymore by scouts. It’s an asset.

Yes. If he was from Tennessee I’d say no, but being from Baton Rouge I’d say he has a great shot of going home with a nice NIL.
Bingo. He should be RB1 next year, but given college football has adopted basically free agency, he could very well get a call from his agent saying, "I got you a lucrative offer from X. Interested?"

LSU is one of the few schools I’d worry about in regard to NIL. They invest across the board in all sports men and women.
