Does Sampson stay?

In this day and age, RBs should try to have the path that Sampson has had here. Being the bell cow for three or four years before going pro is horrible for a rb. Injuries and wear and tear limit their NFL value. Unless they are a can’t miss monster, they are getting small rookie contracts and the ones that have already been heavily used never make it to the second contract. If Sampson blows up next year, he can go to the NFL, get through his rookie deal and have a chance at a better career.
Being the dude for 1 year is not frowned upon at all anymore by scouts. It’s an asset.

Truth. A perfect role model for Sampson is Alvin Kamara, who while being criminally underused by Jones flashed his obvious talent enough to be a Day 2 pick and a star in the NFL. Not having a lot of tread on his tires was an advantage at the next level, and he got to that second contract and cashed in.

Sampson can take a similar path by returning and being 'the guy' for a season while refining his game and showing his versatility. I think it would be a mistake for him to leave at this point.

I can’t see Wright staying IF he’s projected fairly high in the draft. I’m going with 1) Sampson and 2) Cam Seldon as our duo next year. Keith and Bishop should see good action in Heupel’s run heavy offense as well. I want what’s best for Wright, but wouldn’t hurt my feelings if it was Wright, Sampson and Seldon.

Dear Dylan, Please do not leave our Vol Family. You are a fantastic player. You are one of my favorite players. You will be the man next year and you won't be the "caged tiger" you claimed to be earlier this year. Please please please stay.

Don't know why he would leave. Good chance Wright leaves for the draft and Sampson becomes RB1 next season.

He's a good fit in this offense and a threat as a pass catcher --- which is very valuable for NFL teams.

Even if Wright comes back, I think he's got more to gain by staying than leaving. If he was 3rd or 4th on the depth chart, I could see him leaving, but not 1st or 2nd.

Sampson could be RB2 next season if Small decides to use his COVID season.

Unless you're Derrick Henry and we may never see another college or pro RB built like him.

Obviously I don’t know but I predict he is gone and probably LSU. His Instagram says something cryptic about going home..

If Wright stays then it’s because he is thinking Championship or bust in 2024. By staying I think maybe that could lead Sampson to transfer. Honestly, who knows, I think Wright moves on. However, would love to see Wright stay another year. Small is gone for sure and if Wright does stay no one else other than Sampson has more carries to Wright. Sampson would still be a good #2 back.

Sampson's a smaller back, he's probably appreciative that he isn't pounding the rock 25 times a game. He gets one more year to work on his receiving game which is really important for the nfl. Nico will be a lot better for RB passes and mixing it up.

Being reported he is going back to LA. These kids are so weak minded and entitled. Its got to be a huge PITA having to coddle these brats 24/7. They couldnt pay me enough.

Need him to stay really. Not much experience returning behind him. I’m assuming if he makes the decision to transfer we would hit the transfer portal for one. Sampson is a great back I believe.
