Does Tennessee get exposed this weekend?

It will be an interesting game nontheless. Some of you say that Russell is soft...well, hes a big boy...plus i was at the Peach Bowl last year expecting to get our butts handed to us. But, Flynn can make smart decisions plus he can scramble when needed and make the first down on his own.

Games like this come down to turnovers, penalties, and mental farts (mainly by russell). The loss to auburn was a loss...but that was the worst officiating I have ever seen. Hell....the refs in the UT-Lamecock game were bad as well. The loss to FL by LSU should have been a lot more than it was. We had turn over after turn over and still kept them reasonably close considering.

2.5 more days until i roll out of here for KnoxVegas....CANT WAIT!!!!!

I was wondering what it would take for Miles to put Flynn in. I bet Flynn or Perrilloux wouldn't go in unless Russell gets injured.

I suppose we'll see.

In response to the initial question concerning UT being exposed, what exactly is being exposed?

What's to expose? Inconsistant running game, inability to pressure a moble quarterback, defensive % on third and long...

I think everyone knows what this UT football team is... a talented group of skill position athletes finally living up to the billing, an offensive line getting everything they can despite being the worst group of run blockers in the past 10 years, undersized play makers at linebacker, inexperience on the d-line.

But for all of the problems that this team has they win. I'll take UT's chances any time thier backs are against the wall. Don't listen to the analyst or read much into stats. This team has learned how to win tough games.

I think UT is has done a great job to get where they are. This team seems to play more disciplined and harder than last year's team ever thought of doing. That being said, I also think there is a lack of talent on this team as compared to UT teams from the recent past. The voters and the nation see this team as top 10, a 1 point loss to UF being the only blemish. It would not surprise me to see LSU and or Arkansas lay a beatdown on this team. This UT team reminds me of the Indianapolis Colts, great passing game, bad running game and average defense.

I wouldn't call Indy's running game "bad"... more like "average"

That could be right. It just seems like it disappears when it is really needed. You know 3rd and 1 late in a critical game or in the postseason.

I think it would be a lot better if they would just give the job completely to Addai. He's looked very good running the ball.

Yesir.

Back on topic. Teams normally don't get "exposed" more than halfway through the season. I think everybody knows our weaknesses by now.

I do not think we are past being exposed as a team that is not top 10. I think anyone with a great running game has the ability to beat us and perhaps even beat us bad. Air Force ran all over us, although their run game is not typical, it still looked awful.

I realize we are not the gretest team ever to set foot on a football field, but we have already faced some very talented receivers, backs, and QB's this year, and we played pretty well. Cal, Bama, Fla., and USC all had some very good skill players.

Even if we were beaten soundly, I don't think I'd called that exposed. Exposed to me means we aren't good but have been winning anyway.

I think we are a very good team and legit Top 15 team. If we lose to UK or Vandy too, then I'd say we were exposed.

What scares you most about LSU? Their great (he laughs) running game? Their great (he laughs) passing game? The only thing that worries me about LSU is that they have a very fine Defense. If we don't make turnovers we win.

All Jamarcus needs to do is get the ball to his group of receivers that just happens to rival UT's talent-wise. As a matter of fact, you won't see 6 receivers that good on one field unless you are watching an NFL game. Also, LSU may not have a good running game, but it seems that even a mediocre rushing team can run wild on the Vols. Also, Russell is difficult to sack, because of his strength. This game will be a big struggle for our defense.

I am worried about the talent. I know bad teams are bad teams, but they beat those bad teams surpringly easy. I know you are probably saying this means nothing becaues they choke when they play good teams.

I put that on Les Miles, who doesn't seem to have any motivational ability. We took care of the motivation thing last year.

I think when LSU is on, they may be the best team in the country.

I can't lie, until they come out and play like it, it is speculation, but that team has the talent to be great.

He motivated an inferior Oklahoma State team to beat Bob Stoops' Oklahoma Sooner team two times in four years. We may be underestimating the Michigan grad.

LSU has beat:

Lousiana Laf.
Arizona
Tulane
Mississippi State
Kentucky
Fresno State

In their two losses against what I like to call "Good Defences" they gained under 100 yards rushing and had a total of 13 points.

So against again good/solid teams LSU has:

13 Total Points
132 Rushing Yards
497 Passing Yards

..but against Florida they had 5 turnovers and only gave up 23 points. There's no denying there D is good. There real good.

I didn't watch the LSU Auburn game, can someone fill me in on how they passed for 269 yards and didn't get in the end zone? They didn't have any turnovers that game either. Granted they did have 42 rushing yards but we had -11 against Florida and 231 passing and still had 20 points.

They must have had some crappy field posistion.

Yeah thats a pretty good point. Reminds me of South Carolina and Alabama from the last two weeks. They have good stats from beating a bunch of nobodys.

On a related note, pretty tough end-of-year schedule for Lsu. They have us, Arkansas, and Bama.
