Does the committee put in a one loss conference

The committee lost me after moving TCU to #4 after having them behind a 1-loss ‘Bama in the initial rankings. They caved to the pressure and criticism. I really don’t know what to think about their reasonings now.

No chance Clemson gets in over us if we win out. They could only get in if we lose, TCU loses, and/or USC loses. I'd think the committee would be half tempted to take a two loss Alabama team over them.

The answer has and will be “it depends”.

If that 1 loss team has big wins and an acceptable loss then yes.

If not and another team (us) does, then a conference champ would be left out.

I think the Committee will screw over an 11-1 Tennessee team i hope i'm wrong about that howevertenor (47).gif

I think they and ESPN would like to see 4 big name brands With big followings from 4 different parts of the country.
For example, they’d lose to have SoCal, TOSU, Bama, and Texas.
That ain’t happening this year.
They will get UGA, the TOSU/Mich winner for their #1 and #2.
the 3 and 4 will come from Tennessee, TOSU/Mich loser, and either an unbeaten TCU or a one loss Pac12 team.

The OSU/Michigan loser will be out of the top 4, unfortunately for said team.

Champion From a terrible conference like the ACC over an obviously much better team?

No. Clemson got ass raped by Notre Dame. They can't overcome the optics of that loss.

Furthermore they have barely squeaked by numerous times this season. They can't pass the eye test.
