My unbiased opinion currently after the early games:
1. Georgia (SEC Champ)
2. Michigan
3. TCU (3 point OT loss shouldn’t knock them out)
4. Ohio St
5. Tennessee
6. Alabama
7. Kansas St (Big 12 Champ)
8. Utah (Pac-12 Champ)
9. USC
10. Penn St
If Clemson wins tonight they should slot in somewhere between 7-9 and knock Penn St out of the top 10. Kansas St and Utah are pretty interchangeable imo. I think TCU still deserves to be ahead of Ohio St based on the amount of quality wins they have compared to Ohio St, but I’m not going to argue with someone if they want to flip those two teams. As much as I want to put Tennessee in there, I can’t put them ahead of 1-loss teams.

Losing to UGA seems to be overlooked with all of this living in the past that we are doing. We did not represent the East, yet again. So we had no shot to win the SEC. Anything after that is luck and hope. Carry on wishing folks.....
I seriously don’t think Tennessee gets selected because everything that Alabama needed to happen including TCU lose 1 of last 2 games did happen.
So that is a factual why Tennessee would need a miracle to be selected over an Alabama team that lost 2 entertaining close games to a ranked Tennessee team in Rocky Top, and a ranked LSU Tigers team in Tiger Stadium.

13-0 Tennessee would have made it.

11-1 Tennessee would have made it.
And yes, a 10-2 Tennessee team that did not win anything other than rivalry games would need a consideredably large miracle to make a 4 team playoff. That makes perfect sense.
Our fans incessant linking of our playoff chances to Alabama's is what does not make sense. Tennessee started out number 1 in the rankings (largely because we beat Alabama), and we were ahead of Alabama in the rankings until we lost our way behind Alabama in the rankings.
Feel free to blame getting beaten in Athens and then Columbia for Tennessee missing the playoff. It is in direct line with the truth. No mystery or conspiracy involved.
Winning the Eastern Division still matters until it goes to a 12 team playoff.

I absolutely cannot fathom all the OSU love. They played next to nobody and lost badly in their only big game of the year. Michigan is even worse, but at least they won their ONE game of the year. It seems that since a bunch of hot air talking heads has a tremendous amount of weight with a lot of posters on this board. I mean the big is being rewarded for running away and hiding from all big games. Why do they deserve two spots?
